Job Description &ndash; Sr./Academic Specialist (Literacy)Position: Sr./Academic Specialist Location: Delhi (with travel to states and project locations as required) Reporting to: Director &ndash; AcademicPosition Description:The Sr./Academic Specialist (Literacy) will be part of the Central Academic Team based in New Delhi and will provide technical and academic support to assigned projects, including state-level technical support. The position requires close collaboration with state academic teams, partner organizations, and government institutions.Key Roles and Responsibilities:Academic and Technical Leadership<ul><li>Provide academic guidance and mentoring to assigned state academic teams on literacy for foundational and primary grades.</li><li>Develop a deep understanding of the organization&rsquo;s academic approach and instructional frameworks, ensuring alignment of state programs with the pedagogical vision.</li><li>Collaborate with state teams to provide technical support to SCERTs, Samagra Shiksha, and other government stakeholders to strengthen FLN implementation.</li></ul>Curriculum Development<ul><li>Review and analyze state language curricula, textbooks, TLMs, and training materials to identify academic and pedagogical gaps.</li><li>Lead and manage instructional design and material development processes (teacher guides, workbooks, TLMs, resource packs, etc.) in collaboration with state teams.</li></ul>Documentation and Knowledge Management<ul><li>Develop academic frameworks, guidelines, presentations, and policy briefs for internal and external use.</li><li>Contribute to documentation of field learnings, best practices, and impact case studies.</li><li>Coordinate cross-team academic projects (e.g., video content, blended courses, mentoring tools).</li><li>Develop short research concept notes and conduct short studies on academic components of the program.</li></ul>Capacity Building and Professional Development<ul><li>Design training modules, workshop plans, and resources for professional development of teachers, mentors, and internal team members.</li><li>Facilitate academic sessions and workshops for internal teams, teachers, mentors, and government officials.</li><li>Support the design and delivery of online and blended teacher professional development programs.</li></ul>Monitoring, Planning, and Coordination<ul><li>Participate in monthly and quarterly academic reviews and track progress of academic deliverables.</li><li>Support proposal development, donor reporting, and planning exercises as required.</li><li>Analyze field-level and program data and present key insights to relevant teams.</li></ul>Representation and Liaison<ul><li>Represent the organization in meetings, consultations, and technical discussions with government bodies, donors, and academic partners.</li></ul>Other Responsibilities<ul><li>Undertake field visits for classroom observations, mentoring, and training facilitation.</li><li>Perform any other academic tasks as assigned by the supervisor.</li></ul>Educational Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:<ul><li>Graduation or equivalent degree required; Master&rsquo;s degree in Education or a related field preferred.</li><li>Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in curriculum design, teacher training, or academic resource development in FLN/primary education.</li><li>Strong conceptual understanding of foundational learning, NEP 2020, NIPUN Bharat Mission, and National Curriculum Framework (NCF).</li><li>Strong Hindi and English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking); excellent academic writing ability in Hindi required.</li><li>Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet usage, and Hindi typing.</li></ul>Desired Qualities:<ul><li>Strong understanding of policy and practices related to early grade literacy, multilingual education, teacher education, and curriculum &amp; pedagogy.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects, coordinate across teams, and meet timelines effectively.</li><li>Demonstrated emotional intelligence, teamwork, and problem-solving ability.</li><li>Passion for improving government school education and teacher professional development.</li></ul>Job Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: Up to ₹1,200,000.00 per yearWork Location: In person

Academic Specialist Literacy

Centre CoordinatorMajor Responsibilities:1. Offer Care/ Support to Kids/ Families staying at the Centre(s). This is the primary mission of the organisation.2. Ensure that all the SOPs pertaining to their center/ area are being followed.3. Emphasis will be on strictly following COVID-19 precautions includingproper wearing of Masks, Gloves, using Sanitizers, Hand Wash,maintaining Social Distancing, quarantine/ isolation (when needed), etc.4. Should greet/ offer water/ be courteous to all the Visitors/ Guests/ Donors who visit their center.5. Should wish and thank all the Visitors/ Guests/ Donors who visit their center.Take photos of the Visitors/ Guests/ Donors with the families/kids and upload/ send in the right groups.6. Maintain the Visitor register and send snapshots regularly.7. Shall assist as required in Volunteer programs and support Volunteers coming to their centers.8. Take care of their personal grooming &ndash; wear clean, neat clothes and be presentable when outside their residential units.9. Take special care that Hygiene practices at the center are followed at all times. Should ensure that there is no lapse in this responsibility.10. Should monitor that no Non-Veg food is prepared/served at the center for the kids/ families and oneself. Also, no Alcohol/ Gutkha, intoxicant substances are allowed as these are strictly prohibited in the premises. The CentreCoordinators themselves should set an example for this so that others can follow the same. (Only boiled eggs for kids, based on the advice of treating doctors will be permitted)11. Centre (esp. washrooms) have to be kept clean and well maintained at all the time.12. Plan the schedule and supervise the House keeping staff who visit the centersfor daily cleanliness. CC shall guide them and take responsibility, as required.13. Shall maintain, report and follow-up for regular payments of Utility Bills/ Petty cash associated with the Centre they are in-charge of.14. Shall maintain a record of the Monthly Height/ Weight of the kids at their center.15. Shall offer full support of giving information/ pictures/ details for case studies.16. Update the CM on the requirements of Ration/ Vegetables/ Fruits/ other items and handle inventory when received.17. Shall maintain the records, reports and handle distribution of grocery/ toiletries to all the families at the center.18. Shall maintain daily updated records of all the Empty/ Occupied Units at their center and report regularly as needed.19. Shall immediately report incidents/ issues by mail/ Wapp and/or telephone, of all significant occurrences at or outside their center and which are related to the families. Guidance on what all and how they have to be reported, will be offered by the reporting officers.20. Shall take pictures of Meal Mate programs and events conducted at their center.21. Shall be responsible for giving Toilet/ Hand wash/ Hygiene training to all the families at their center.22. Maintain a ready updated list of all emergency contacts like Police/ Fire brigade/ Doctor/ Ambulance/ Plumber/ Carpenter/ etc. That is displayed and easily available to all.23. Shall assist in safe upkeep, handling, and servicing of all equipment, products, water purifier, fridge, washing machine, TV, CCTV, firefighting equipment, etc. existing at the center.24. Assist in planning, organizing, follow-up, etc. of all Organisations events/ programs/ activities25. Shall update and coordinate Hospital trips of the families. Facilitate their transport to hospitals in emergency situations, as per the policy.26. Shall assist in E-Tours which shall be conducted regularly as per the guidance offered by reporting officers.27. Shall maintain a Temperature/ SpO2 Register for all the families, kids and themselves during the COVID-19 situation.28. Shall supervise any activity taking place at the center including Pest control, internet, gas supply, other Services, visits of MCGM Officials, etc.29. Shall ensure confidentiality of all Organisation's data, kids/ family information, pictures, financial information, official communication, etc. as mandated by Organisation policy.30. Handle any other work /task as assigned by the CM/ reporting officers/ management, from time to time.Reporting, Documentation, etc.1. Prepare and maintain Visitors&rsquo; Log.2. Maintaining the Data for temperature, SpO2, etc. carried out daily.3. Maintain the Monthly Weight/ Height Data for all the kids present at their center.4. Manage inventory of groceries, toiletries, etc. at the centerDuty Hours, Rest pauses and Meal breaksThe Daily schedule of the Centre coordinators including Meal Breaks is as given below,From 6:30 am to 8:00 am on dutyFrom 8:00 am to 10:00 am off timeFrom 10:00 am to 14:00 pm on dutyFrom 14:00 pm to 16:00 pm off time (Lunch + Rest)From 16:00 pm to 19:00 pm on duty (Visitors)The above mentioned timings is subject to the situation at that particular center. It can change as per the circumstances and the nature/ priority of work at hand.Weekly OffThe Weekly off for Centre Coordinator will be a week day (not weekend) and is fixed. They are required to follow the same schedule. Weekly Off means that they can take the day off and can step outside the Centre but have to return back to the centre before night fall. In their absence, a temporary arrangement will be made in regards to taking the responsibility of that centre. In case of work Emergencies / Training / Official meetings, etc. falling on their weekly off day, the same can be adjusted after getting prior approval from the Centre Manager in consultation with the HR Department.
