Performs laboratory procedures to obtain results for physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases using established protocols that require the broad exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimal technical supervision. Works independently and communicates effectively with other healthcare professionals.</div><div></div><div>
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.</div><div></div><ul><li>
Accurately performs any high complexity, moderate complexity or waived laboratory testing in the assigned testing division, which may require the broad exercise of independent judgment to include the use of advanced clinical laboratory instrumentation and equipment according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.</li><li>
Recognizes and corrects instrument malfunctions within the scope of the operators&rsquo; manual and records troubleshooting activities.</li><li>
Confirms, verifies and reports test results independently. Monitors results for reasonableness and critical values.</li><li>
Correlates and interprets data generated from testing.</li><li>
Assists physicians in the interpretation of test results within the scope of the profession.</li><li>
Conducts established quality control and performance improvement activities.</li><li>
Provides clinical orientation and/or training of new employees/students.</li><li>
Prepares and/or collects specimens (blood, urine, feces or other body fluids) for analysis.</li><li>
Participates in Continuous System Improvement (CSI) and continuing education programs.</li><li>
Performs instrument and assay validations.</li><li>
Performs and signs off on technical competencies.</li><li>
Performs competency for moderate and high complexity testing, as delegated.</li></ul><div></div><div>

Education/Experience:</div><div>
Must meet CLIA 88 personnel requirements for high complexity testing. Bachelor&rsquo;s degree required in medical technology or related science field from an accredited institution; or, must meet CLIA grandfathered medical technologist regulations.</div><div></div><div>
Language Ability:</div><div>
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.</div><div></div><div>
Math Ability:</div><div>
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.</div><div></div><div>
Reasoning Ability:</div><div>
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.</div><div></div><div>
Computer Skills:</div><div>
Word processing, Spreadsheets, E-mail, Laboratory Information Systems.</div><div></div><div>
Certificates and Licenses:</div><div>
Certification by a recognized certifying agency for clinical laboratory professionals preferred (ASCP, ASMT, NCA, etc). Certifications may be required in specialized areas of the laboratory.</div><div></div><div>

Lab Technician / Technologist Generalist LVH Dickson City

Route 71; 1200-2000, 1000-1600 Sat; T, Th, F; M, T, Sat repeat<div></div><div>
Transports mail, supplies, and clinical lab specimens to and from HNL Lab Medicine accounts. Pickup and deliveries are made in a timely and efficient manner. Safely operates a motor vehicle while on duty, observing all applicable rules and regulations. Promotes and has a positive professional image. Utilizes effective communication skills in interpersonal interactions with customers, patients and families, physicians, and fellow employees.</div><div></div><div>
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:</div><div></div><ul><li>
Transports supplies, mail, and clinical lab specimens to and from designated locations according to established policies and procedures.</li><li>
Coordinates activities and assignments with dispatcher. Notifies Manager or designee of any issues that may affect daily schedule.</li><li>
Verifies daily pickups and deliveries according to established policies and procedures.</li><li>
Operates the vehicle in a safe manner and always wears a seatbelt. Alerts leadership team of any issues that may impair vehicle performance.</li><li>
Performs duties independently with little direct supervision, offering to provide additional help when needed.</li><li>
Experienced couriers may occasionally assist with training/orientation/and ride- along of new staff based on department needs.</li><li>
Maintains the integrity of HNL Lab Medicine vehicles by sanitizing and vacuuming the interior regularly and taking the vehicle to a local dedicated car wash facility as needed.</li><li>
Operates all HNL Lab Medicine equipment and vehicles in a safe and sensible manner by following safety protocols and policies.</li><li>
Remains detail oriented to ensure effective service to clients and patients while maintaining specimen integrity while meeting required turnaround times.</li><li>
Utilizes hand-held devices, computers, tablets and different app and software programs. Adapts to the changes and upgrades of the logistics technology.</li><li>
Completes monthly driver safety modules as assigned by the department manager. All training modules and policy acknowledgements must be completed by the assigned due dates.</li><li>
Communicates effectively and professionally with management, clients, and co- workers. Discussions should always remain cordial, positive and solution based.</li></ul><div></div><div>
