6:45 to 5pm Monday through Friday. Every other Saturday at the plaza 7-12
Collects clinical laboratory specimens and performs tasks associated with patient registration, order entry and specimen processing with general supervision. Performs waived testing with general supervision. Provides logistical support to team members and general assistance to customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.<ul><li>
Performs venipunctures. Collects other specimens and explains the proper collection procedures for specimens provided by the patient. Clarifies orders and pre-analytical test requirements when appropriate.</li><li>
Performs registration; requisitions lab orders and verifies billing information.</li><li>
Process, store, and transport specimens according to the laboratory requirements.</li><li>
Actively promotes HNL Lab Medicine&rsquo;s values and exhibits excellent customer relations in anticipating customer needs in all interactions.</li><li>
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of changes in specimen requirements and collection devices.</li><li>
Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and ensures a meticulous work area.</li><li>
Assists in the orientation, training, and mentoring new staff members.</li><li>
Participates in the Continuous Service Improvement and continuing education programs.</li><li>
Properly records and documents necessary expense reimbursement (Mileage Reimbursement) following established electronic processes.</li><li>
Provides on-call and mobile service as required.</li><li>
Required to travel to sites within 25 miles other than base location as needed for coverage.</li><li>
Per Diem: Per diem work is determined by the departments need and the employee&rsquo;s availability. Flexibility is an expectation of the per diem position.</li></ul>

Education/Experience:

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Bilingual and able to read, write and speak Spanish proficiently may be required based on service location.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software.
Certificates and Licenses:
Must be accessible to appropriate and reliable transportation to perform essential duties and responsibilities. Certification required by the American Heart Association for Basic Life Support to include adult, child and infant. Certification will be provided if needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:<ul><li>
Transports supplies, mail, and clinical lab specimens to and from designated locations according to established policies and procedures.</li><li>
Coordinates activities and assignments with dispatcher. Notifies Manager or designee of any issues that may affect daily schedule.</li><li>
Verifies daily pickups and deliveries according to established policies and procedures.
</li><li>Operates the vehicle in a safe manner and always wears a seatbelt. Alerts leadership team of any issues that may impair vehicle performance.</li><li>
Performs duties independently with little direct supervision, offering to provide additional help when needed.</li><li>
Experienced couriers may occasionally assist with training/orientation/and ride- along of new staff based on department needs.</li><li>
Maintains the integrity of HNL Lab Medicine vehicles by sanitizing and vacuuming the interior regularly and taking the vehicle to a local dedicated car wash facility as needed.</li><li>
Operates all HNL Lab Medicine equipment and vehicles in a safe and sensible manner by following safety protocols and policies.</li><li>
Remains detail oriented to ensure effective service to clients and patients while maintaining specimen integrity while meeting required turnaround times.
</li><li>Utilizes hand-held devices, computers, tablets and different app and software programs. Adapts to the changes and upgrades of the logistics technology.
</li><li>Completes monthly driver safety modules as assigned by the department manager. All training modules and policy acknowledgements must be completed by the assigned due dates.
</li><li>Communicates effectively and professionally with management, clients, and co- workers. Discussions should always remain cordial, positive and solution based.</li></ul><h1 class="jobSectionHeader">
