<div>Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Media and Content, the Media and Content Writing intern will assist in writing daily and feature content for Sabres.com, Bandits.com, and all digital media and marketing objectives as needed. The Media and Content intern is part of a support staff for all digital-related activities within the company, and will have a focus on writing/reporting but will help with various needs throughout the digital space.

Duties &amp; Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Assist in producing short- and long-form written content for Sabres.com including game and practice coverage.</li>
<li>Primary producer of short- and long-form written content for Bandits.com including game and practice coverage.</li>
<li>Coverage of all Bandits games and press conferences.</li>
<li>Provide coverage for community and partnership events.</li>
<li>Assist in operating the club&rsquo;s content management system by posting content (articles, videos, photos, etc.), editing graphics for the team&rsquo;s digital properties and performing general maintenance on the team&rsquo;s digital properties.</li>
<li>Coordinate with other departments to ensure digital platforms meet objectives.</li>
<li>Stay up to date on current trends and best practices.</li>
<li>Consistently review the content and services being provided on and provide recommendations that would support our mission.</li>
<li>Maintains a high level of confidentiality and professionalism</li>
<li>Other duties as required.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Qualifications for the Position:
<ul>
<li>Candidate must be at least 18 years of age</li>
<li>Pursuing or completed Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in journalism or an Associate&rsquo;s degree with equivalent experience</li>
<li>Ability to write and create engaging news articles and feature stories across digital properties on a deadline.</li>
<li>Familiarity with content management systems.</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of hockey and the NHL as well as lacrosse and the NLL.</li>
<li>Experience working in sports is preferred, but not required.</li>
<li>Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite software.</li>
<li>Ability to travel to Canada.</li>
<li>Knowledge or interest in mobile and digital trends.</li>
<li>Ability to work long, flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.</li>

Compensation &amp; Hours

This role pays $16.00 an hour. This is a part time role and must have the flexibility to work extended hours, evenings, weekends and holidays. This is a temporary position for the 2026-2027 season.

Work Environment &amp; Physical Demands:

This internship operates in both an office setting and in a live events setting. Live event coverage does consist of being around loud stadium noises and crowds.

Candidate must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving boxes up to 20 pounds.

Writing Intern

<div>Summary

Working as a member of the Digital Strategy department, this position will be responsible for supporting the production of video content for the Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bandits, and other related properties.

This individual will have technical knowledge of video production equipment and practices, as well as a firm understanding of video editing processes and techniques. The ability to work effectively under tight deadlines is a must.

Duties &amp; Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Support the team on a variety of video shoots, including but not limited to equipment transport and setup, camera and lighting assistance, and general on-site duties as assigned.</li>
<li>Provide shooting and editing support for practices, press conferences, and media availabilities. Shoot and edit game highlights as requested.</li>
<li>Properly organize and archive video footage and other project assets.</li>
<li>Utilize Premiere Pro and other Adobe Creative products to edit projects as assigned.</li>
<li>Support the plans and processes laid out by the Dir. of Video Production and Supervising Producer.</li>
<li>Maintains a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.</li>
<li>Other duties as requested or required.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Qualifications for the Position:
<ul>
<li>Candidate must be at least 18 years of age</li>
<li>Pursuing or completed a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in video production or an Associate&rsquo;s degree with 1- 3 years video production experience.</li>
<li>Familiarity with the operation of professional video cameras and lenses.</li>
<li>Some knowledge of professional audio and lighting equipment is preferred, but not required.</li>
<li>Strong video editing experience, including knowledge of Premiere Pro and other Adobe Creative applications.</li>
<li>Valid Driver&rsquo;s License</li>
</ul>
