POSITION OVERVIEW:Seeking a poised, driven, detail-oriented individual who has a passion for architectural lighting to provide support to the firm&rsquo;s design team and clientele.ABOUT THE FIRM:HOILAND STUDIOS Inc. is a full-service lighting design firm based in Chicago, IL specializing in high-end residential, hospitality, retail, and art lighting projects. We offer highly customized lighting solutions for discerning clients nationwide who value good lighting. We are currently working on projects that range from high-end residential new construction, gut remodels, single family homes, condos, art lighting additions, and boutique commercial spaces. We work with high-profile clientele in the privacy of their homes which requires the utmost trustworthiness and discretion.THE ROLE:&middot; Assist the Principal and design team with a variety of design projects through all stages of design.&middot; Attend design meetings and construction site meetings with the principal and on your own and take detailed notes.&middot; Draw lighting plans in CAD and make updates as necessary based on design changes.&middot; Research lighting fixture options based on the design direction.&middot; Run photometric calculations in AGi32.&middot; Mark up fixture spec sheets in Bluebeam Revu.&middot; Create and update lighting fixture schedules in Excel.&middot; Create and update lighting load schedules in Excel.&middot; Design lighting scenes for the lighting control system and assign light levels to each scene in Excel.&middot; Request and review fixture quotes.&middot; Prepare lighting presentations.&middot; Coordinate details between trades.&middot; Assist with social media posts and content creation.&middot; Assist onboarding new hires and/or interns when applicable.&middot; Update the website and mailing list as needed.&middot; Coordinate rep visits.&middot; Organize product samples.&middot; Perform additional administrative tasks as needed.TOOLS YOU WILL USE:AutoCAD, AGI32, Bluebeam Revu, Excel, Word, Zoom, Wix, Mailchimp, GSuite, Dropbox, CanvaQUALIFICATIONS:&middot; Bachelor&rsquo;s or Master&rsquo;s degree in lighting design, interior design, architecture, architectural engineering, or a related field.&middot; 2-3 years of professional experience in lighting design or a related field.&middot; Strong 2D AutoCAD proficiency required.&middot; Proficiency in AGi32 is a plus but not required.&middot; Knowledge of lighting lines and diverse fixture specifications preferred.&middot; Ability to proactively solve problems and take initiative.&middot; Articulate communication skills required.&middot; Familiar with architecture and design principles and the firm&rsquo;s aesthetic.&middot; Ability to conceptualize spaces three-dimensionally.&middot; Valid driver&rsquo;s license and accessibility to a car required.WHAT TO EXPECT FROM US:&middot; Our mission is to spread light within the community through our design work, service-minded positive attitude, and relationships.&middot; We encourage gathering inspiration from travels, local excursions, reading, observing, etc. and sharing your experiences with the team.&middot; We are respectful of everyone&rsquo;s ideas and contributions.&middot; We value clear communication and construction criticism to help each other and the company grow.&middot; We would like our team members to grow within the firm and expand their role as the firm evolves and expands.&middot; We value continuing education and participation in industry associations and events.&middot; We offer health insurance benefits.&middot; We offer retirement savings benefits.&middot; We offer a hybrid working opportunity, meeting in person a few times each month.&middot; As a woman-owned design firm, we value the opportunity to continue working while raising a family with an option to scale back if you have a family down the road.Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Retirement plan</li></ul>Work Location: Hybrid remote in Chicago, IL 60614
