Responsibilities<ul><li>
The Purchasing Assistant performs various duties to help out the Purchasing Department. Tasks include:</li><li>
Entering orders into the system.</li><li>
Printing and filing Purchase Order Receipts and Vendor Invoices</li><li>
Verifying vendor acknowledgements and invoices for accuracy</li><li>
Managing EDI exceptions and errors</li><li>
Assists Buyers and Rebuyers with various projects.</li><li>
In order to maintain departmental accuracy, the Purchasing Assistant identifies and resolves issues such as incomplete order forms.
</li><li>The Purchasing Assistant verifies payments and credits with the Accounting Department.</li><li>
Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>

Requirements:

Education: Must have or be working towards high school diploma/GED.
Experience: Three to six months of related office experience preferred.
Physical Demands: Low physical demands required. The employee is regularly required to sit for sustained periods of time and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Other: Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. The ideal candidate will possess the following strengths: attention to detail, high organizational skills, ability to multi-task, strong problem solving skills, 10 key accuracy and speed, ability to meet deadlines, positive attitude, and ability to be a team player.<ul><li>Reasonable accommodation will be made for those who require it.</li></ul>
