Food Clerk-Stocker
Primary Responsibilities
<ul><li>Greet, assist, and lead customers to product politely</li><li>
Actively stock, merchandise, and correct product</li><li>
Build and fill displays as needed</li><li>
Maintain company standards for perishables and stay up to date on all active safety procedures</li><li>
Transportation of goods within department</li><li>
Ensuring Health and Safety Codes, checking for pricing and expiration, and maintaining an organizational standard area.</li><li>
To perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisors and managers, assisting within other departments as needed to service customers.</li><li>
Stay up to date and in congruence with Health and Safety standards, as well as holding a working knowledge of cleaning supplies and various chemicals and machines within the department.</li><li>
The capability to understand merchandising labels, warehouse order codes, numbers, reports, printed paper invoices and order forms.</li><li>
Ability to comprehend and provide complex verbal instructions and descriptions concerning store policy and procedures, and usage of equipment.</li><li>
To assure the safety of self, customers and co-workers by understanding and practicing store safety rules and notifying a supervisor of any potential hazard immediately. Pick up/remove all broken containers, packing materials/boxes from the sales floor or customers&rsquo; pathway immediately.</li><li>
To understand the operation, safety requirements and restraints of a baler, case cutter, pallet jack (must be 18 years or older to operate the pallet jack and baler).</li><li>
To move damaged/unsalable and &quot;returnable&quot; products from shelves to the backroom, sorting the materials for return to the damage reclaim center.</li></ul>
Qualifications<ul><li>
Basic Mathematics (Add, subtract, multiply, divide)
</li><li>High School Diploma or Equivalent</li><li>
Prior Experience in related field or industry</li></ul>
Specific tasks
<ul><li>Lift, twist, move and carry a maximum of 50 lbs., from the floor to shelving, or overhead racks in the store</li><li>
Maintain active signage and pricing in all departmental areas</li><li>
Care for signs, banners, and debris from daily operations</li><li>
Respond to customers, coworkers, and vendor questions and responses promptly and politely</li><li>
Proper usage of store phone and intercom systems</li></ul> 
 
 
Work Environment Note: 
Inside work with transitions of heat/cold/humidity/dust from receiving/entrance and exit doors/parking lot areas.
