Hometown Pharmacy

<div>A Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting technicians and licensed pharmacists in operating a pharmacy. General duties include greeting and assisting customers in person and over the phone, entering and filling prescriptions, and cleaning and maintenance of the pharmacy department.

Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Provide excellent customer service</li></ul>
<ul><li>Learn to independently input patient data and medication orders</li></ul>
<ul><li>Count, label, and package prescription drugs and supplies</li></ul>
<ul><li>Submit prescriptions for third-party billing and learn how to trouble-shoot</li></ul>
<ul><li>Assist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining inventory of prescription medications, over-the-counter items, and necessary supplies</li></ul>
<ul><li>Perform general cleaning and store maintenance: filing paperwork, stocking items, keeping the store clean and professional-looking</li></ul>
<ul><li>Work with the pharmacy team to learn and understand patient care services</li></ul>
<ul><li>Provide excellent customer service: greet and assist customers in person and via phone, build relationships with regular customers</li></ul>
<ul><li>Gain knowledge of commonly prescribed drugs, brand/generic equivalents, and therapeutic classes</li></ul>
<ul><li>Gain knowledge about billing third parties and resolving third-party issues</li></ul>
<ul><li>Learn about over-the-counter and front-end departments; basic register functions</li></ul>

<ul><li>Comply with all local, state, federal, and company policies and regulations</li></ul>

<ul><li>Follow all HIPAA standards and guidelines</li></ul>

Education &amp; Experience:
<ul><li>High school diploma or GED (required)</li></ul>
<ul><li>1 year of pharmacy experience or training as a technician (preferred)</li></ul>

Physical Requirements:
<ul><li>Ability to stand for duration of shift</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ability to lift and carry up to twenty pounds</li></ul></div>
