Key Responsibilities:</b></div><div></div><ul><li>
Supervise operations within multiple departments and shifts at the highest practical efficiency. This includes working with employees and management to develop production schedules, budgets, and to coordinate movement of material in and out of the work area. Resolve operating, scheduling, and production issues as needed.</li><li>
Work with other department supervisors to ensure operations meet quality standards and product specifications.</li><li>
Work with other department supervisors to ensure machinery, equipment, and work areas are maintained properly. Work with maintenance to coordinate preventative maintenance, expedite repairs, and schedule equipment updates, additions, and/or replacements.</li><li>
Work with other department supervisors to ensure work is carried out in a safe manner and that all areas are free of work hazards. Ensure that company safety policies and practices are followed by employees. Set personal example by observing all safe work practices and participate in safety checks, audits, and investigations.</li><li>
Participate in new hire orientations, employee training, ongoing coaching, and reinforcement to employees. Observe and apply all Hood human resources, safety, and related policies.</li><li>
Participate in creating required operating reports (e.g. work hours, production levels, quality testing, etc.). Participate in maintaining appropriate and required operating, regulatory, and human resources records, including attendance logs via KRONOS, preventative and corrective maintenance via Guardian, and production reports via Lumber Trax.</li></ul><div><b>

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate&rsquo;s degree is a plus.</li><li>
Previous manufacturing experience required. Prior wood products experience preferred.</li><li>
1-2 years of supervisory or team lead experience.</li><li>
Knowledge of Internet, Excel, and Word.</li><li>
General knowledge of OSHA standards.</li><li>
Ability to work with a diverse workforce.</li><li>
Must be able to work multiple shifts and weekends.</li></ul><div><b>
Salary Range: $54,000 - $80,000</b></div><div></div><div><b>

<div><p>Hood Industries, Inc. is seeking a <b>Manufacturing Area Superintendent</b> for our <b>Beaumont, Mississippi</b> plywood facility. This is a greenfield site that will employ up to 250 employees. The Manufacturing Area Superintendent is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of an assigned manufacturing area by providing leadership to supervisors, promoting a safe and productive work environment, and ensuring operational goals for safety, quality, productivity, and cost are achieved.</p><p>
Lead the assigned manufacturing area by engaging People, managing through Process, and driving sustainable Performance in alignment with the Hood Management Philosophy of <b>&quot;The Hood Way.&quot;</b> Foster positive employee relations while achieving operational excellence, meeting production goals, and ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and established operating standards.</p><p><b>
Key Responsibilities:</b></p><p><br>
</p><ul><li>Lead the day-to-day operations of assigned manufacturing areas to achieve safety, quality, productivity, cost, and production objectives.</li><li>
Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPI&rsquo;s), forecasts, budgets, productivity, inventories, safety, and other operational metrics.</li><li>
Establish performance expectations, coach supervisors, and hold teams accountable for achieving operational goals.</li><li>
Develop supervisors and high-potential employees while fostering teamwork, accountability, and positive employee relations.</li><li>
Resolve operational, scheduling, staffing, and production issues to maintain safe and efficient operations.</li><li>
Promote a strong customer-focused culture by meeting the needs of both internal and external customers.</li><li>
Establish and maintain consistent processes, standards, and operating expectations to ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable laws.</li><li>
Lead by example by demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.</li><li>
Support and promote reliability maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives to improve operational performance.</li><li>
Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost through data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.</li></ul><p><b>
Education/Qualifications:</b></p><br>

High school diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary education in manufacturing, industrial technology, engineering, business, or a related field preferred.
</li><li>3&ndash;5 years of supervisory experience.
</li><li>5+ years of manufacturing experience, with wood products experience preferred.
</li><li>Demonstrated ability to make timely, sound decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
</li><li>Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
</li><li>Good knowledge of manufacturing processes.
</li><li>Strong technical aptitude.
</li><li>Ability to build productive working relationships and develop employees.</li></ul><p><b>
Salary Range - $86,000 - $104,000</b></p><p><b>
