Responsible for a classroom of preschool children. Must work well with family members and other staff to achieve positive outcomes for children of all abilities.Schedule:12 months, full-time employment, Monday-Friday, typically school day hours with opportunities to work extra hoursEssential Duties and Responsibilities:The following examples are intended as illustrations only of the various types of duties assigned to this position. The absence of specific statements of duties does not exclude those tasks from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment of the position.<ul><li>Primary teacher for a classroom of 3 to 5 year-old children.</li><li>Serves as a role model for children and families.</li><li>Provides for the education, care, safety, and well-being of all children in the group.</li><li>Meets the children&rsquo;s emotional, social, physical, and intellectual needs.</li><li>Plans and implements developmentally appropriate learning activities.</li><li>Maintains a cooperative relationship with children, co-workers, and parents.</li><li>Demonstrates increasing understanding of child growth and development in working with children, in talking with parents, and in recording activities.</li><li>Attends staff meetings, reports problems of child or room management to the Center Director promptly.</li><li>Attends in-service training, keeps current on developments in the field of child development.</li><li>Follows personnel policies of Hope Academy.</li><li>Stays up-to-date and adheres to MS Child Care Licensing Standards.</li><li>Manages a safe, clean, and pleasant environment for young children.</li><li>Provides individualized plans for each child in the classroom to promote the development of each individual child.</li><li>Schedules parent-teacher conferences as necessary and properly documents these meetings.</li><li>Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.</li><li>Candidates must be available for extended care hours.</li><li>Performs any related duties as assigned by the Head of School.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field</li><li>Meets required standards as specified by the State Department of Health/Child Care Licensure Standards for staff including fingerprinting and background check</li><li>Obtain or Have certification in CPR and First Aid</li><li>Experience working with children</li><li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license and reliable transportation</li></ul>Employees are eligible for a tuition discount at both Hope Academy campuses.Job Type: Full-timePay: $15.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:<ul><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Work Location: In person
