Alto Software Group (ASG) is a leading B2B SaaS platform serving the UK property industry. We power thousands of estate agency branches and support a significant proportion of UK housing transactions each year.
We are building a data-driven, operationally efficient platform business. AI will be a structural lever in improving internal productivity, reducing operational cost, and enhancing customer experience.
This is a hands-on delivery role responsible for building the automations and AI integrations that embed AI into how we operate.
The Role
We are hiring a contract AI Engineer to build, deploy and maintain AI-enabled automations across our core systems stack. Working with the Principal Engineer and the Head of AI Operations, you will take prioritised automation opportunities from design through to production.
You will deliver against an internal AI roadmap spanning Customer Operations, Marketing, Finance, Education and Training to:<ul><li>Automate high-volume, manual administrative workflows</li><li>Build AI-enabled workflows in Salesforce, Zendesk, HubSpot, Zuora and Thrive LMS</li><li>Turn the Mission Control data platform into an engine for event-triggered automation</li><li>Reduce operational overhead and improve reporting speed and accuracy</li></ul>
Core ResponsibilitiesAutomation Build &amp; Integration<ul><li>Build and maintain automation pipelines using n8n, Zapier/Make and direct LLM API integrations (OpenAI/Anthropic)</li><li>Develop API and webhook integrations across Salesforce, Zendesk, HubSpot, Zuora and Thrive LMS</li><li>Implement workflows such as ticket summarisation, tagging, routing and AI triage</li></ul>
AI Engineering<ul><li>Design and implement RAG pipelines and vector database integrations over internal knowledge</li><li>Develop, test and version prompts; evaluate and improve output quality</li><li>Build event-triggered automations and AI-enabled reporting on Mission Control</li></ul>
Quality, Security &amp; Handover<ul><li>Apply sound engineering standards: error handling, logging and monitoring of automations in production</li><li>Ensure GDPR-compliant, secure handling of customer and company data</li><li>Document solutions clearly and hand over to internal teams for ongoing operation</li></ul>

Required ExperienceTechnical<ul><li>Proven delivery of LLM-based automation in production environments</li><li>Strong experience with automation platforms (n8n, Make or Zapier)</li><li>Proficiency in Python and SQL</li><li>Strong API and webhook integration capability</li><li>Experience working with OpenAI/Anthropic APIs and prompt engineering</li><li>Experience building RAG pipelines and working with vector databases</li><li>Experience automating CRM (Salesforce) and support (Zendesk) environments preferred</li></ul>
Delivery<ul><li>Experience operating in B2B SaaS or similar fast-moving environments</li><li>Track record of delivering as a contractor: scoping, building and handing over cleanly</li><li>Comfortable working with non-technical stakeholders to refine requirements</li></ul>

The Role
We are looking for a Data Science Lead to build and lead Alto&rsquo;s data science capability from the ground up. We have rich data flowing through our Mission Control platform and a clear commercial ambition to turn it into predictive insight &mdash; this hire gives us the leadership and technical depth to make that happen. You&rsquo;ll work at the intersection of data, product, and commercial strategy, with direct access to executive leadership and a platform that&rsquo;s ready to be exploited.
What You&rsquo;ll Do<ul><li>Define and own Alto&rsquo;s data science roadmap, prioritising use cases based on measurable ROI and commercial impact.</li><li>Build, deploy and maintain production-grade predictive models across churn, customer health, propensity and capacity forecasting.</li><li>Design and analyse experiments to test pricing, product and operational changes, raising the standard of statistical rigour across the business.</li><li>Partner with Platform and Data Engineering to productionise models on Mission Control, defining data quality and feature requirements for reliable modelling.</li><li>Develop segmentation and scoring frameworks that Customer Operations and Commercial teams can act on directly.</li><li>Work with the Head of AI Operations to identify automation opportunities grounded in data science outputs.</li><li>Surface insights through ThoughtSpot and AI-enabled reporting for senior stakeholders, up to executive level.</li><li>Mentor analysts and grow data science capability across the business, building a team rather than a one-person silo.</li></ul>

The Role
We are looking for a Data Privacy &amp; Compliance Specialist to own our individual rights and privacy compliance function. As our product reaches more of the UK housing market, the volume and complexity of our data obligations continues to grow &mdash; this role gives us the specialist capacity to handle that with rigour and care. You&rsquo;ll work across the business as the go-to expert on UK GDPR, individual rights, and data-related complaints, operating at the intersection of legal compliance and real operational impact.
What You&rsquo;ll Do<ul><li>Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), Right to Erasure (RTBF), and Portability requests &mdash; from intake and verification through to fulfilment within the statutory one-month timeframe.</li><li>Perform meticulous reviews of personal data extracts, applying UK GDPR exemptions and carrying out necessary redactions to protect third-party privacy.</li><li>Act as first responder to privacy-related complaints from customers, employees, and third parties, handling each case with empathy and legal precision.</li><li>Support the DPO/Head of Legal in investigating potential data breaches, assessing risk to individuals, and preparing documentation for the ICO where required.</li><li>Maintain and update the Record of Processing Activities (ROPA) under Article 30, ensuring all data flows across the business are accurately documented.</li><li>Support departmental leads in completing Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new projects, tools, and product changes.</li><li>Provide pragmatic, accessible guidance to commercial, marketing, people, and product teams &mdash; translating legal obligation into practical action.</li><li>Deliver bite-sized privacy awareness sessions to staff, reducing human-error risk and building a data-conscious culture across the business.</li></ul>
What You Need to Be Successful<ul><li>Experience in a dedicated data protection or privacy compliance role within a UK-based organisation.</li><li>Deep working knowledge of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, PECR, and the Data Use and Access Act (DUAA).</li><li>Hands-on experience handling DSARs end to end &mdash; including redaction, application of exemptions, and meeting statutory deadlines.</li><li>Familiarity with ROPA maintenance and conducting or supporting DPIAs.</li><li>Experience with redaction software and case management tools; comfortable navigating business systems to locate personal data across platforms.</li><li>Strong written communication skills &mdash; able to produce clear, legally accurate responses to individuals and regulators.</li><li>A calm, methodical approach to complaint handling and incident response, particularly under time pressure.</li><li>A relevant qualification (e.g. BCS Certificate in Data Protection, CIPP/E, or equivalent) is a plus.</li></ul>
