The Commercial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and supporting electrical systems on commercial construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical theory, the ability to interpret drawings and specifications, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. As part of a growing electrical trade within the company, this position may involve a mix of hands-on work, learning, and assisting more experienced electricians in both independent and team-based environments.
Requirements:

Key Responsibilities
Assist with and perform a range of commercial electrical tasks, including:<ul><li>
Install, inspect, maintain, repair, and replace electrical components and systems, including wiring, fixtures, insulated cables, panels, transformers, circuit breakers, controls, receptacles, and lighting</li><li>
Interpret and work from electrical drawings, schematics, and project specifications</li><li>
Install conduit (EMT, rigid, flexible, and other types as required)</li><li>
Pull, terminate, test, and troubleshoot wire and cable systems</li><li>
Conduct fault finding, testing, repair, and preventative maintenance on electrical equipment</li><li>
Perform rough-in, trim-out, punch list, and closeout activities</li><li>
Perform basic layout work using tapes, levels, lasers, and other precision tools</li><li>
Accurately measure, cut, bend, and install materials to project requirements</li><li>
Conduct regular inspections and checks on electrical equipment to ensure proper operation</li><li>
Accurately log billable hours and complete required documentation</li><li>
Coordinate shutdowns, repairs, and daily tasks with foremen, supervisors, superintendents, operators, and other trades</li><li>
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and heavy equipment as required</li><li>
Work safely from ladders, lifts, and elevated surfaces; climb as necessary to perform job duties</li><li>
Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas</li><li>
Follow lockout/tagout procedures and all electrical safety protocols</li><li>
Comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC), state and local building codes, OSHA regulations, company policies, and jobsite safety requirements</li><li>
Support productivity, quality standards, and project schedules</li><li>Other duties may be assigned.</li></ul>
Education and/or Experience 
<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent (preferred, but not required)</li><li>
Licensed Journeyman Electrician, Apprentice Electrician, or willingness to obtain the appropriate license</li><li>
Prior experience in commercial electrical work, construction, or general labor is preferred but not required</li><li>
Good understanding of electrical theory and commercial electrical systems</li><li>
Experience using a variety of electrical tools, test equipment, and materials related to the trade</li><li>
Basic understanding of construction processes, job site safety, and trade coordination</li><li>
Willingness to learn and grow within the electrical trade</li></ul>

Physical Demands<ul><li>
Frequent sitting and manual tasks (handling tools, wiring, materials).</li><li>
Occasional movement: walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and working overhead.</li><li>
Ability to safely use ladders, lifts, and work at heights</li><li>
Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs.</li><li>
Visual acuity required for reading drawings, color-coded wiring, and detailed electrical work.</li><li>

Commercial Electrician

 Howard Shockey &amp; Sons is adding an in-house scheduler to our team! The Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules for all active and upcoming construction projects. This position works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and executive leadership to ensure accurate, realistic, and coordinated schedules are established and maintained throughout each project&rsquo;s lifecycle. The Scheduler plays a key role in supporting strategic planning, resource allocation, and operational performance tracking across the company&rsquo;s portfolio.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Key Responsibilities
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Develop and maintain baseline and updated project schedules using approved scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent).
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents to define logical work sequences, durations, and dependencies.
 </li>
 <li>
 Conduct regular schedule updates, progress reviews, and variance analyses.
 </li>
 <li>
 Support project teams in identifying and mitigating schedule risks and impacts.
 </li>
 <li>
 Instruct the project teams how to prepare look-ahead schedules and reports for internal meetings and client presentations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Standardize scheduling procedures and templates to ensure consistency across projects.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist with preconstruction planning and bid scheduling to support pursuit efforts.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide training and guidance to project teams on scheduling best practices and company standards.
 </li>
 <li>
 Coordinate with field operations to verify progress and validate schedule accuracy.
 </li>
 <li>
 Support claims analysis and time impact studies when delays or changes occur.
 </li>
 <li>
 Other duties may be assigned.

 Requirements
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum 5&ndash;7 years of construction scheduling experience in commercial or industrial projects.
 </li>
 <li>
 P6 Software knowledge is a requirement.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
 </li>
 <li>
 Solid understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and logistics.
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple schedules simultaneously.
 </li>
