Summary
We are seeking a motivated, self-starting Project Manager to join our Water and Wastewater Practice in Melbourne, FL. This role offers the opportunity to lead and contribute to a wide range of municipal water and wastewater engineering projects, spanning from conceptual planning and permitting to final design, bidding, and construction. 
Our water engineering services include:<ul><li>
Raw water supply systems, including surface water intakes and well development</li><li>
Water treatment plant design and upgrades</li><li>
Water storage tanks and reservoirs</li><li>
Pump stations and distribution systems</li></ul> 
Our wastewater engineering expertise includes:<ul><li>
Wastewater treatment plant planning and design</li><li>
Sanitary sewer system evaluations and rehabilitation</li><li>
Lift station and pump station design</li><li>
Process piping and mechanical system layouts</li></ul> 
The Project Manager will lead multidisciplinary project teams, manage client relationships, and play a key role in growing our regional presence in the water/wastewater utility sector. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management<ul><li>
Develop scopes of work, budgets, and contracts for water/wastewater projects.</li><li>
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.</li><li>
Assign, manage, and coordinate team schedules and tasks, including subconsultants.</li><li>
Lead project kickoff and progress meetings.</li><li>
Conduct QA/QC reviews per HR Green protocols to ensure technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.</li><li>
Supervise construction administration and field personnel.</li><li>
Ensure timely client invoicing and payment follow-up.</li></ul><div>
Technical Delivery</div><ul><li>
Apply engineering expertise to independently complete technical tasks related to water treatment, wastewater treatment, distribution and collection systems, and pump station design.</li><li>
Serve as Engineer of Record on key project deliverables.</li><li>
Communicate directly with clients regarding technical matters and design recommendations.</li></ul><div>
Business Development</div><ul><li>
Support business development efforts by identifying new water/wastewater project opportunities.</li><li>
Participate in proposals, cost estimates, and interviews for municipal clients.</li><li>
Build and maintain strong relationships with water and wastewater utility clients.</li><li>
Cross-sell other HR Green services and actively participate in industry organizations (e.g., WEF, AWWA, APWA).</li></ul><div></div> 
Education and Experience<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Master&rsquo;s preferred).</li><li>
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months.</li><li>
10+ years of experience in water/wastewater engineering, including project and team management.</li><li>
Proven ability to manage water and wastewater design and construction projects.</li><li>
Strong client-facing skills with a track record of building and expanding municipal relationships.</li><li>
Proficiency in water/wastewater planning, permitting, and regulatory compliance.</li></ul>

We are hiring a Project Engineer/Lead Engineer on our Water/Wastewater Team! This is a great opportunity for a motivated engineer who is interested in working with a dynamic team on a wide range of projects in our Sarasota, FL Office, while mentoring junior team members and ensuring technical success of our projects. This person would be developing a strong understanding of the Client utility and treatment needs that would position them well for long-term relations and success with our Clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>
As an individual contributor, uses professional judgment to direct and independently complete assigned engineering designs.
</li><li>Understanding client needs acting as a project/lead engineer to assign tasks and schedules to Staff Engineers, Project Engineers and other project team members, while answering questions and monitoring progress.</li><li>
Demonstrated history of organization and responsiveness.</li><li>
Checks the accuracy (formal and informal QA/QC) of assigned tasks completed by other engineering and technical staff.</li><li>
Makes design decisions that meet the needs of external customers while coordinating the impact of such decisions on related project efforts.</li><li>
Pro-actively identifies technical, schedule or financial issues and seeks resolution from the team and/or the client, as appropriate to the situation.
</li><li>Assists the Client in bidding or contractor selection if authorized by the Client.</li><li>
Monitors construction and supervises field personnel assigned to a task, data collection or a specific project.</li><li>
Responds to contractor questions and issues and prepares and issues project addenda as needed.</li><li>
Recommends and prepares change orders.</li><li>
Participates in the creation of engineering services proposals, including the calculation/estimation of time schedules and costs of the proposed work.
</li></ul>Education and Experience<ul><li>
Must have a bachelor&rsquo;s or master&rsquo;s degree in engineering and either be professionally registered (P.E.) in Florida (or have the ability to obtain such registration within six months of employment). Must possess five or more years of design/engineering experience and a demonstrated ability to act as an authorized agent of the company.</li><li>
Possess strong technical verbal and technical writing skills and be able to read technical literature and engineering plans. Strong communication skills in a mix of audiences.</li><li>
Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to apply professional knowledge to the solution of both routine and non-routine tasks and engineering activities.</li><li>
Previous water/wastewater experience required.</li></ul>
Compensation Range
The final agreed-upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, skills, prior work experience, competencies, and geographic work location. The total annual compensation package may consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate, after a qualifying period, in our performance and discretionary incentive bonus program(s).<div></div><div>

As a Construction Engineer, you&rsquo;ll be at the heart of turning transportation projects from plans into reality. <ul><li>Apply local, state, and federal specifications in the field, guiding contractors and resolving challenges to deliver projects that meet high standards for design, safety, and quality.</li><li>Investigate construction obstacles related to design, materials, or site conditions, providing practical, proactive solutions that keep projects on schedule and within budget.</li><li>Advise clients on innovative construction methods, materials, and strategies to optimize outcomes, accelerate schedules, reduce risks, and control costs.</li><li>Partner with clients, contractors, and internal teams to navigate complex issues, implement plan adjustments, and ensure smooth project execution from start to finish.</li><li>Inspect and monitor contractor work, perform quality assurance checks, verify tolerances, and document compliance with plans, specifications, and regulations.</li><li>Apply expertise in structures, materials, soils, water, and foundations to provide technical guidance, solve challenging problems, and coordinate subconsultants for superior project delivery.</li><li>Lead progress meetings, respond to complex field situations, exercise independent judgment, and maintain detailed project documentation, including &ldquo;Lessons Learned&rdquo; to improve future work.</li><li>Contribute technical insight and practical recommendations to enhance project efficiency, outcomes, and safety, while making a meaningful impact on every project phase.</li></ul></div><div>
What are we looking for? 
<ul><li>Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree or equivalent in Engineering is required; Civil Engineering is strongly preferred.</li><li>Up to 5 years of construction observation experience with moderately complex plans is preferred, offering hands-on exposure to real-world projects.</li><li>Familiarity with documentation standards and inspection procedures to support accurate, compliant project delivery is preferred.</li><li>Strong time management, clear communication, and solid technical skills are essential for success in this role.</li><li>Experience with equipment commonly used for engineering-related tests and analysis is required.</li><li>Proficiency with the MS Office suite is required to efficiently manage project documentation and reporting.</li></ul></div>
