JOB SUMMARY
The Welding Supervisor will do a variety of tasks in the Manufacturing Facility. They will work to coordinate and complete needed tasks daily as requested and set forth by the Manufacturing Manager. They will oversee all plant production, materials, equipment and tools to ensure efficiency is maintained and projects remain on schedule. The primary role is taking on planning, organizational and productive activities, shop floor management, and to manage and lead the welding department.
 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 The following represents a list of essential duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned or re-assigned as the Manufacturing Facility expands.<ul><li>
Ensure shop orders are completed in proper sequence and work is properly assigned based on individual skills.</li><li>
Conduct meetings with welding personnel to ensure work is properly delegated.</li><li>
See that welding workers&rsquo; efficiency/time management is in line with planning.</li><li>
Read and interpret shop orders and blueprints or instructions to assist with weldments.</li><li>
Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on pick lists for welding department.</li><li>
Utilize forklift, pallet jacks, and overhead crane to move raw materials, parts, equipment, and shipments as directed.</li><li>
Ensure only authorized welding personnel are operating manufacturing equipment. (Cranes, lifts, rigging, etc.)</li><li>
Ensure welding employees are using best practices when operating manufacturing equipment. (Cranes, lifts, saws, etc.&hellip;)</li><li>
Oversee resolution of general manufacturing/welding issues as they arise.</li><li>
Troubleshoot material issues as they arise. (Locate missing materials, etc.)</li><li>
Communicate project status updates regularly with Production Planner and Assembly Supervisor.</li><li>
Closely monitors the use of inventory, and that only authorized personnel are removing inventory.</li><li>
Reviews CRP (Capacity Resource Planning) and prepares shop orders based on dates.</li><li>
Reviews MRP (Material Resource Planning) to anticipate and notify purchasing of material shortages.</li><li>
Support welding personnel concerning material handling on-demand.</li><li>
See that material handling guidelines are being followed to preserve the surfaces of materials.</li><li>
Monitors the status of all welding related shop floor tasks.</li><li>
Control quality of department weldments.</li><li>
Maintains manufacturing equipment by completing pre-use inspections; making operator repairs, and scheduling inspections/repairs as needed. (Welding machines, tools, cranes, compressors, etc..)</li><li>
Develop and manage testing procedures for both PQRs and WPSs in alignment with industry standards and applicable code.</li><li>
Teach and execute most efficient methods of distortion control and straightening techniques for stainless steel weldments.</li><li>
Keep track of welding consumables and their proper usage and placing orders when required.</li><li>
Explain metal properties to welders to ensure correct utilization of techniques and distortion control.</li><li>
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.</li><li>
Work as part of the team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards.</li><li>
Provide technical expertise to the team.</li><li>
Meet welding demands of a fast-paced production environment.</li><li>
Responsible for compliance with safety and housekeeping requirements.</li><li>
Provide training, support direction and guidance to department personnel in order to continually develop their work habits and skills.</li><li>

Skills and Attributes<ul><li>
Must have Structural Stainless-Steel experience, specifically distortion control</li><li>
Excellent Leadership and Management Skills.</li><li>

 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will directly supervise all welders. Additional roles may report to the role as company growth continues.
 WORK ENVIRONMENT
Consistent attendance is expected. Flexibility to respond to troubleshooting issues, which may be outside normal hours. Position is predominately office based, also requiring frequent trips and time on shop floor with exposure to noise, dust, fumes and odors may be present. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. along with standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, fork trucks, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, box cutters and tape dispensers.
 PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds with mechanical assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
 POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a regular Full-Time benefit eligible position. It is Salaried Exempt per the Fair Labor Standards Act. Standard days and office hours but may need to work other hours as needed.
 TRAVEL
Occasional travel to Germany will be required.
 REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS<ul><li>
High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.</li><li>
 Have in depth understanding of welding metallurgy and ability to explain details to engineers without welding background.</li><li>
 Experience with WPS development and management welder PQRs. Must have a full understanding and hands on experience with relationship of WPS to welding specifications and applicable industrial standards.</li><li>
 Inspection understanding as it relates to weld integrity (sample test, dimensional test, destructive test, non-destructive test, determination of required corrections following inspection, determination of conditions for corrective actions including heat treatment).</li><li>
 Overhead crane training required.</li><li>
 Candidate should have experience in analyzing Information, be deadline-oriented, able to time manage with a sense of urgency, and understand inventory control and data entry along with basic rigging and logisitcal knowledge.</li><li>
 Have proficiency in IFS manufacturing module.</li></ul>

Safety Training &ndash; OSHA Certifications a plus</li><li>
Technical understanding, MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning)</li><li>
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel</li><li>
