 Role Summary
 
 
 
 
 The Plant Supply Chain Manager role is critical for managing end-to-end supply chain functions for the factory. This role includes,
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Production planning and control (PPC) including production scheduling
 </li>
 <li>
 Plant sourcing, includes raw material planning, as well as indirect sourcing at the plant
 </li>
 <li>
 Plant stores (RM and FG warehousing), logistics, and scrap management.
 </li>
 <li>
 Plant Supply Chain data, MIS and projects management.
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 
 
 A Plant Supply Chain Manager oversees planning, procurement, production scheduling, inventory, and logistics to ensure efficient, cost-effective manufacturing operations.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Roles and Responsibility:
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 1. Production Planning &amp; Scheduling
 
 
 &bull; Align material availability with the production plan to ensure zero downtime.
 
 
 &bull; Collaborate with production, sales, and central planning teams for demand forecasting and capacity planning.
 
 
 &bull; Monitor daily and weekly production plans and adjust schedules to meet customer delivery commitments.
 
 
 
 
 
 2. Procurement &amp; Supplier Coordination
 
 
 &bull; Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, and consumables.
 
 
 &bull; Coordinate with central procurement and approved vendors to track purchase orders, delivery timelines, and quality compliance.
 
 
 
 
 
 3. Inventory Management
 
 
 &bull; Maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
 
 
 &bull; Monitor stock ageing, non-moving inventory, and initiate timely disposal or consumption plans.
 
 
 &bull; Ensure regular physical stock audits and reconciliation with system records.
 
 
 
 
 
 4. Warehousing &amp; Logistics
 
 
 &bull; Oversee inbound and outbound logistics to ensure OTIF (On-Time-In-Full) deliveries.
 
 
 &bull; Manage warehouse operations, space utilization, and storage safety.
 
 
 &bull; Ensure proper documentation, dispatch scheduling, and coordination with transporters.
 
 
 
 
 
 5. Cost &amp; Process Optimization
 
 
 &bull; Identify and implement initiatives to reduce logistics, inventory carrying, and procurement costs.
 
 
 &bull; Drive process improvements using lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma methodologies.
 
 
 &bull; Track and improve key SCM KPIs like inventory turnover, delivery accuracy, and material yield.
 
 
 
 
 
 6. Compliance &amp; Safety
 
 
 &bull; Ensure compliance with company policies, EHS norms, and statutory regulations.
 
 
 &bull; Conduct regular training and audits to uphold safety and operational standards.
 
 
 
 
 
 7. Team Leadership &amp; Development
 
 
 &bull; Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing plant SCM team.
 
 
 &bull; Define clear roles, responsibilities, and development plans for the team.
 
 
 &bull; Foster collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement mindset.

 Qualifications &amp; Experience:
 
 
 
 &bull; Graduate in Engineering / Science / Commerce (MBA or PG in Supply Chain preferred) 12-20 years of relevant experience in supply chain or operations management in a manufacturing setup
 
 
 &bull; Strong understanding of production planning, MRP, logistics, and warehousing practices
 
 
 &bull; Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools
 
 
 &bull; Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
