<div>Position Title: Receiving Clerk
Location: Shreveport Job Corps Center, Shreveport, LA
Reports To: Property Officer
The Receiving Clerk position provides support for a U.S Department of Labor Job Corps contractor. The Job Corps program is a federally-funded residential training program. The mission of Job Corps is to provide career-ready technical and academic training and job placement assistance to program eligible youth ages 16-24.
Summary of Duties: The Receiving Clerk is responsible for assisting 
the Purchasing and Property Coordinators by checking in shipments received and 
distributing supplies as needed and requested.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Promotes the Department initiatives and functions.</li><li>
Maintains integrity guidelines and ensure that data is not manipulated.</li><li>
Ensures timely processing of inventory received.</li><li>
Accurately types all required information.</li><li>
Demonstrates the ability to transfer data from one document to another with an emphasis on detail and error recognition.</li><li>
Performs related data entry and data verification essential and consistent with 
purchasing guidelines.</li><li>
Makes contact with vendors as required.</li><li>
Maintains department files, records and logs.</li><li>
Ensures files, records and logs are maintained in sequential or other prescribed methods and that documents reflect quality by maintaining all information in a systematic format for easy review and auditing.</li><li>
Ensures documents are received and returned by vendors in a timely manner.</li><li>
Interfaces with Finance and Purchasing Departments for exchange of required information.</li><li>
Maintains integrity of systems.</li><li>
Demonstrates knowledge of all DOL, FAR, Corporate and Center requirements. Follows all applicable procurement regulations to include those contained in the FAR, DOL acquisition standards, OMB circulars, and executive orders.</li><li>
Maintains open communication. Does follow-up as necessary.</li><li>
Completes copying, typing and filing as requested and needed.</li><li>
Produces legible copies of requested materials.</li><li>
Proofreads typed documents prior to returning to originator.</li><li>
Prepares weekly reports and other required DOL, Corporate and Center reports.</li><li>
Types Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), plans, meeting minutes, agenda memos, reports, correspondence, newsletters and any other item as directed.</li><li>
Demonstrates attention to detail, ensuring that documents generated from within the department are well written, comprehensive, error-free and of a high quality.</li><li>
Engages in research related to special topics and projects to increase awareness and resource capacity.</li><li>
Maintains department files to include SOPs, weekly reports, weekly summation reports, JCRL reports, etc.</li><li>
Performs other duties as requested by department supervisor.</li><li>
Schedules and attends office meetings, sends out required reports, runs office errands, attends training, acts proactively, completes tasks in a timely and proficient manner, tracks and follows through on action items, exercises good judgment and problem-solving skills on manager&rsquo;s behalf, and other comparable duties.</li><li>
Enters information into the CIS and keeps necessary files and records.</li><li>
Maintains accurate hard and electronic copy files as necessary to ensure department meets DOL, Corporate, and Center expectations.</li><li>
Runs CIS reports to ensure information entered is accurate.</li><li>
Maintains other computer systems as necessary.</li><li>
Controls inventory and ensures the department areas are attractive, clean, safe and in good repair.</li><li>
Completes PRs and check requests to include budget management.</li><li>
Ensures that POs are received and filed initially, and that the items requested are 
received in a timely manner.</li><li>
Ensures that all equipment assigned to the department is properly accounted for and maintained in good condition.</li><li>
Initiates work orders and ensures that repairs are completed in a timely manner. Ensures that work area, including supervisor&rsquo;s area and other assigned areas, are attractive, clean and safe at all times.</li></ul>
Education/Experience:<ul><li>
High School Diploma or equivalent.</li><li>
One year of related experience.</li></ul>
Certifications/Licenses:<ul><li>
Valid state driver&rsquo;s license</li><li>
CPR/First Aid certifications</li></ul>
