Position Overview

Manages the content of all Facility master drawing files. Utilizes and maintains Facilities CAD standards. Manages furniture inventory, Assist department management as needed.

What you'll do 

<ul>
<li>An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. (These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.)</li>
<li>Maintains Facilities CAD master files to ensure they are current and accurate. Routinely updates Facilities drawings, including: architectural backgrounds, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, plant equipment, warehouse racking, fire extinguisher maps, building evacuation maps and emergency maps. Provides CAD space planning and furniture layout support for the campus. Assists Project Manager with space planning and furniture layouts.</li>
<li>Responsible for producing construction documents, updating square footage reports, and distributing drawings to consultants, engineers, contractors, document control and business function staff. Assists with minor coordination tasks for small-scale jobs, such as communicating with drawing intent to contractors, confirming scope alignment, and ensuring readiness for job start-up. Capable of making timely drawing updates during construction.</li>
<li>Maintains and serves as CAD standards administrator including: document management process, standard major/minor disciplines, layering conventions, electronic file transfers, drawing directory structure, electronic deliverables, CAD block library. (Creates and or updates all furniture blocks, equipment blocks, architectural symbols, mechanical symbols, electrical symbols, and title blocks).</li>
<li>Maintains furniture inventory, coordinates and verifies furniture for installation projects.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Verifies proper utilities for all installations and updates cad drawings with as builds and/or redlines.</li>
<li>Partners with internal customers to develop scope, specifications, and requirements for best layout options.</li>
<li>Requires a strong understanding of architectural design principles to produce drawing sets that meet permitting requirements and support ongoing facility operations. Must be proficient in construction documentation standards, spatial planning, and translating design intent into clear, functional layouts for both regulatory review and internal use.</li>
<li>Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.</li>
<li>Position requires regular and predictable attendance.</li>
<li>Demonstrates strong self-motivation and initiative; able to identify, prioritize, and execute tasks independently without daily direction.</li>
<li>Possesses a practical understanding of project workflows and can walk a contractor or management through a drawing set if asked upon.</li>
<li>Applies light coordination skills to ensure alignment between internal needs and external vendor actions, facilitating smooth project progress.</li>
</ul>
Other Functions: 

<ul>
<li>Assists Facilities Project Manager with all drawings and project documentation ensures files are accessible and retrievable through the electronic file database and the physical flat file.</li>
<li>Lends assistance in conducting searches for drawings contained within the Facilities CAD system.</li></ul> 


Who you are 

<ul>
<li>Solid knowledge of Autodesk CAD 2000-2023.</li>
<li>Basic knowledge and understanding of engineering terminology as related to construction.</li>
<li>Solid knowledge and experience working with the CAD system and Microsoft Office Suite. Is viewed and accepted by his/her customers as one that is credible, knowledgeable, educated and experienced in CAD administration.</li>
<li>Basic knowledge of office space planning concepts and practices.</li>
<li>Solid Skill to assign appropriate priorities to work activities based on schedules and deadlines.</li>
<li>Basic Skill to think strategically and present ideas and initiate those ideas into action that may improve upon system processes.</li>
<li>Basic ability to assist with light coordination tasks, including communicating drawing details to contractors and supporting job readiness. Comfortable engaging with vendors and trades to clarify scope and facilitate progress on small projects.</li>
<li>Skill in developing and maintaining effective work relationships.</li>
<li>Ability to use professional discretion in working with highly confidential proprietary information.</li>
<li>Ability to maintain files in an alphabetical and numerical system.</li>
<li>Ability to perform consistently in a pleasant, customer-focused manner displaying professional demeanor under stressful situations.</li>
<li>Ability to read and understand blueprints.</li>
<li>Ability to use correct grammar in the preparation of written correspondence communicating clearly and concisely.</li>
<li>Ability to work in a self-directed manner with a strong customer service focus.</li>
</ul>
Acceptable Training and Experience includes a high school diploma or equivalent. 3 &ndash; 5 years CAD experience within an Engineering or Architectural firm, or a durable goods manufacturing company preferred. Previous shop floor experience is extremely helpful. A willingness to pursue continuing educational development activities within the area of CAD system is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

<ul>
<li>Will frequently walk from office area to other locations at the facility site to personally deliver drawings and supporting documentation.</li>
<li>Will frequently sit at desk while accessing computer and talking on the telephone.</li>
<li>Will frequently bend/stoop/squat at waist and knees when locating utilizes and doing as builds on the plant floor.</li>
<li>Will frequently twist upper torso area when maneuvering around flat files stored in drawer cabinets.</li>
<li>Will frequently pull open and push closed flat file drawers.</li>
<li>Will frequently reach above head to locate items stored in flat file drawers located on the topside of cabinets.</li>
</ul>
Back and Upper Body (lifting and carrying)
<ul>
<li>Will frequently lift engineering drawings stored in flat file drawers.</li></ul>
