Position Summary:</b> The Eligibility Program Manager will serve as the on-site liaison between Marshall Medical Centers and our third party insurance eligibility vendor. This role is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate verification of patient insurance benefits and for building the internal processes and accountability structures needed to keep eligibility operations running smoothly. The manager will own the day-to-day vendor relationship, drive performance standards, and partner with registration, billing, and clinical teams to reduce denials and improve the patient financial experience. They must maintain compliance with current guidelines and all federal, state, and local laws pertaining to these programs.
</p><p><b>Primary Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Serve as the single point of contact for the third-party eligibility vendor. Conduct regular performance reviews, escalate systemic issues, negotiate process improvements, and ensure contractual service levels are met.</li></ul><ul><li>Design, document, and maintain eligibility verification workflows across all access points (inpatient, outpatient, ED, and scheduled services). Identify gaps, eliminate redundancies, and build repeatable processes that reduce manual intervention.</li></ul><ul><li>Track eligibility verification rates, turnaround times, error rates, and denial trends. Present performance metrics to leadership and recommend corrective actions when benchmarks are not met.</li></ul><ul><li>Partner with patient access, health information management, coding, and billing teams to resolve eligibility-related denials and payer discrepancies. Serve as a subject matter expert in eligibility and benefits interpretation.</li></ul><ul><li>Train registration and access staff on eligibility tools, payer requirements, and exception handling. Develop reference materials and serve as a resource for escalated cases.</li></ul><ul><li>Stay current on payer policy changes, CMS regulations, and state Medicaid requirements. Ensure eligibility processes remain compliant and reflect current coverage rules.</li></ul></div></div><br>

This position requires, at minimum, a high school diploma or GED. Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field is preferred. Prior experience in the healthcare environment and/or customer service is preferred. This position requires certification through Medicaid as an Application Assister and to award HPE. A working knowledge of computers and systems to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are necessary. This position requires the ability to communicate in a pleasant, professional, concise, and caring manner. It also requires critical thinking and problem solving to ensure the best care possible for our patients. Bi-lingual is preferred.</div><div></div><div><b><br>

Performs activities and other tasks as necessary in a laboratory environment. Responsible for the testing of WAIVED laboratory tests, as well as setting up Microbiology specimens for culture. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting with phlebotomy as needed, centrifugation of specimens, performing serology, loading specimens onto analyzers, etc.</div>

Provides respiratory therapeutic and diagnostic care to patients according to established standards and practices in critical care, general care and emergency care areas. Performs electrocardiogram and other related examinations for patients as directed.</div>
Qualifications:

Education Required:</b> High School Diploma or GED required. Must have graduated from a CoArc accredited program. Current licensure by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy. Current licensure thru the National Board of Respiratory Care.</div><div><b>

Medical Lab Technician Weekend - Highlands General Lab - FT - 1st Shift

Promotes optimal outcomes by assisting with medication reconciliation. Interviews patients and reviews medication-related documentation for the purpose of compiling a medication history for patients being admitted to the hospital. Compiled history information is entered into the patient&rsquo;s electronic health record for the purpose of facilitating medication reconciliation by the admitting provider. May perform a variety of functions which impact the medication reconciliation process and patient care. Seeks assistance/clarification from a pharmacist with any questions or issues that may arise.</div>
Responsibilities:
<div>
1. Interviews patients or caregivers to collect information regarding all current home medications; identifies when a discrepancy related to inappropriate dosing, frequency, or schedule for a home medication exists, and uses this knowledge to obtain clarification to ensure accuracy of the home medication list and to facilitate the timely/acute collection of data.<br>
2. Utilizes appropriate resources to collect information from various sources (patient interviews, physician offices, retail pharmacies, family members, historical encounters, extended care facilities, examination of medicine bottles, etc.)<br>
3. Utilizes designated computer applications to accurately enter information collected from interview activities for the generation of admission medication reconciliation documentation; this information includes, but is not limited to, correct medication name, medication formulation, dose, route, directions, schedule, and date/time of last dose taken. Produces documents for subsequent physician review.<br>
4. Records the patient&rsquo;s preferred outpatient pharmacy in the electronic medical record.<br>
5. Contacts and communicates with other care providers (pharmacists, nurses, physicians, etc.) as needed to facilitate the processing of home medication information in an efficient manner.<br>
6. Follows up on outstanding issues from the previous shift requiring further phone calls or patient/family interview and communicates any delays/difficulties in the reconciliation process to appropriate disciplines.<br>
7. Consults with the pharmacist in all cases of unresolved discrepancies related to patient&rsquo;s medication history.<br>
8. Willingly helps teach new personnel, residents, and students.<br>
9. Recognizes when to consult with the pharmacist for doubts or questions that require clinical judgment.<br>
10. Ability to set priorities in correct order in relation to the needs and circumstances at the time with reference to patients, co-workers, physicians, and the nursing unit.</div>
Qualifications:

<b>License, Certification, and/or Registration:</b><br>
 Must be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician within 30 days of hire date, and registration must be in good standing &ldquo;active&rdquo;.<br>
 National certification with PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) required.<br>
 In the case of PTCB renewal, &ldquo;active&rdquo; status must be attained within 30 days of expiration of the current certification (this provides a 30-days grace period for the employee)</div><div><b>
Certification/Experience:</b><br>
 Experience applying customer service behaviors and communication skills required.<br>
 Combination of both inpatient and outpatient experience preferred, particularly outpatient/retail experience.</div></div>
