Hyman Health&rsquo;s digital and content platform&mdash;called Hyman Health&mdash;is seeking an Ecommerce and Website Developer to join our growing team.This role will lead development and maintenance across our digital ecosystem, with a primary focus on Shopify and Klaviyo. You&rsquo;ll be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing our Shopify storefront and related tools, integrating data across platforms like Klaviyo, Google Analytics, and third-party apps to improve automation, analytics, and performance.This role reports to our Senior Software Engineer and will collaborate closely with marketing, design, and operations to implement solutions that support key business initiatives.You&rsquo;ll build and maintain key parts of our digital workflow&mdash;from Shopify theme development and custom coding to flow automation and campaign setup&mdash;helping ensure our ecommerce and marketing systems stay fast, reliable, and well integrated.We&rsquo;re looking for someone who&rsquo;s hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable moving between front-end and backend work, with a solid understanding of how systems connect and how to make them run smoothly.The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and comfortable collaborating across teams to implement new features, optimize existing tools, and support ongoing marketing and operational initiatives.At Hyman Health, we value curiosity of mind and an agile, entrepreneurial mindset. We&rsquo;re looking for people who can think long-term while quickly identifying what&rsquo;s important in the moment and taking action to create value&mdash;and who approach every project with a &ldquo;no task is too small&rdquo; attitude.Core Technical Skills<ul><li>Shopify API Integration (REST and GraphQL): Experience connecting Shopify&rsquo;s storefront and admin APIs to build or enhance site functionality, sync data between systems, and support automation workflows.</li></ul><ul><li>Shopify Theme Development: Ability to develop and customize Shopify themes from scratch using Liquid, JSON templates, metafields, metaobjects, and dynamic sections.</li></ul><ul><li>WordPress Development: Familiarity with maintaining and updating WordPress sites, including page templates, plugins, and integrations that support content publishing and SEO.</li></ul><ul><li>Shopify Flow Automation: Skilled in building custom automations, triggers, and actions that connect storefront events, apps, and backend processes to streamline marketing and operations.</li></ul><ul><li>Klaviyo Integration and Development: Hands-on experience setting up flows, building campaigns, managing audience segmentation, and coding custom email templates for dynamic personalization.</li></ul><ul><li>Front-End Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript): Proficiency in hand-coding and debugging layouts, ensuring responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.</li></ul><ul><li>Modern Frameworks (React or Vue): Familiarity with component-based frameworks used in modern or headless Shopify implementations.</li></ul>Backend &amp; Data Skills<ul><li>Basic Backend Development: Working knowledge of Node.js and Express (or similar frameworks) to support API endpoints, integrations, or lightweight backend logic.</li></ul><ul><li>Database and Analytics Exposure: Understanding of how to query, structure, and connect data sources to support analytics, reporting, and site performance tracking.</li></ul>Systems &amp; Workflow Competencies<ul><li>Version Control (Git): Comfortable managing branches, handling pull requests, and resolving merge conflicts within collaborative development workflows.</li></ul><ul><li>Local Development Tools: Experience using Shopify CLI or Theme Kit for local theme development, testing, and deployment.</li></ul><ul><li>Environment Management: Ability to manage staging and production environments, ensuring stable releases and proper version tracking during deployment cycles.</li></ul>Marketing &amp; Automation<ul><li>Email Development and Testing: Skilled in coding and QA&rsquo;ing emails in Klaviyo, managing A/B tests, and tracking performance through UTM tagging and analytics dashboards.</li></ul><ul><li>Cross-Platform Automation: Capable of connecting Shopify, Klaviyo, and third-party apps through Shopify Flow and other automation tools to reduce manual tasks and improve accuracy.</li></ul><ul><li>Landing Page Development: Experience building responsive, conversion-optimized landing pages within Shopify, with attention to speed and mobile performance.</li></ul><ul><li>Tracking and Analytics Setup: Familiarity with setting up Google Analytics 4 (GA4), configuring UTM parameters, and maintaining attribution tracking for marketing performance.</li></ul>Preferred Experience <ul><li>Full-Stack Capability: Ability to shift easily between front-end and backend development depending on project needs.</li></ul><ul><li>Subscription Management Tools: Experience with subscription platforms like Recharge, Appstle, or custom logic for recurring orders and memberships.</li></ul><ul><li>Async Work Mindset: Comfortable working in a fast-moving, remote-friendly environment where priorities shift and proactive communication is key.</li></ul><ul><li>GitHub &amp; PR Workflow: Comfortable creating and reviewing pull requests, receiving feedback, and following approval workflows before merge.</li></ul>WHAT WE OFFER <ul><li>This is a remote opportunity open to candidates based in the U.S. Must be fluent in English.</li></ul><ul><li>Potential to convert to a full-time role.
