OVERVIEW The Purchasing Assistant will help to maintain our supply inventory levels and negotiate deals with potential vendors. This position will report to our Purchasing Manager. The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for learning company purchasing policies and procedures, our operating systems, and maintaining supply inventory levels required for effective company operation. The successful candidate will also be charged with conducting regular price comparisons to ensure that the company is always getting the best price for each product that is purchased.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (include but are not limited to) - this role will support outsourcing efforts and assist in maintenance of the material library within the ERP sustem<ul><li>Maintain strong internal working relationships with our Purchasing Manager and Accounting team.</li><li>Maintain strong working relationships with our vendors.</li><li>Review purchasing agreements with vendors and maintain open lines of communications with those vendors;</li><li>Develop an active process for tracking inventory levels and lead times, and determining purchasing needs based on Project Management forecasts.</li><li>Stay up to date with industry trends and establish long-term purchasing arrangements with vendors when it is beneficial to the company</li><li>Compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders and contact vendors when there are discrepancies.</li><li>Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.</li><li>Extremely detail oriented</li></ul>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>High school diploma/GED or equivalent required</li><li>1+ years&rsquo; experience in a purchasing role</li><li>Excellent communication and negotiation skills</li><li>Highly capable PC use skills</li><li>Proven history of effective supply management</li><li>Able to create and administer a task priority list based on company needs</li></ul>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>3-5 years of relevant purchasing experience</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
