ICCHC is currently seeking a full time Patient Support Specialist for its Lafayette, LA location.</div><div></div><div><b><i><br>
GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:</i></b></div><p>
This position is primarily responsible for greeting patients and visitors, determine their needs and direct them accordingly. Answers telephone calls and schedule appointments. Performs routine clerical tasks.</p><div></div><div><b><i><br>

EDUCATION:</b></li></ul></div><p>
High School Graduate Required. Minimum of Diploma, Certificate or Associate Degree from approved Technical College or University with a concentration in Business, Healthcare, or related Field.</p><div><ul><li><b>
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:</b></li></ul></div><p>
Successful employee should have one to four years on-the-job training and/or combination of on-the-job plus previous experience dealing with the public preferably in a healthcare environment. Person must have pleasant personality and clear voice and diction when dealing with public. Must possess interpersonal skills to communicate with all types of individuals and respond to their questions in a courteous and efficient manner.</p><div><ul><li><b>
JOB KNOWLEDGE:</b></li></ul></div><p>
Employee needs a high level of quantitative skills. This person must have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to learn medical terminology and coding procedures during on-the-job training. Proficiency in the use of personal computers is advantageous. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to details. Working knowledge of software packages and applications used in physician billing and accounts receivable functions as well as appointment scheduling. S/He should have the ability to prioritize and organize work and work independently as well as schedule and produce work in a timely manner.</p></div>
