We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team located at our office in Nashville, TN. Our ideal candidate for a Senior Mechanical Engineer is someone who has 8+ years of experience as a Mechanical Design-Build Engineer or in a similar role. They will be someone who is a self-starter and will bring a strong sense of leadership, direction, and commitment to our projects.
Primary responsibilities for iENG&rsquo;s Senior Mechanical Engineer include:
<ul><li>Leading mechanical design and implementation projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.</li>
<li>Designing, specifying, and selecting mechanical systems and components, considering factors such as energy efficiency, cost, and regulatory compliance.</li>
<li>Performing load calculations, airflow analyses, and other technical assessments to inform system sizing and design.</li>
<li>Ensuring all designs meet relevant local and international codes, standards, and safety regulations, including ASHRAE, LEED, and NFPA standards.</li>
<li>Preparing and reviewing technical documents, including design drawings, specifications, equipment selections and submittals, and cost estimates.</li>
<li>Overseeing installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems to ensure quality and functionality.</li>
<li>Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams.</li>
<li>Collaborating with clients and owners to understand project requirements and provide technical support and recommendations.</li>
</ul>
Primary qualifications for iENG&rsquo;s Senior Mechanical Engineer include:
<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related engineering degree from an accredited institution).</li>
<li>8-10+ years of relevant mechanical engineering design or design-build experience with a focus on HVAC and piping systems design. Plumbing knowledge is a plus!</li>
<li>Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.</li>
<li>LEED Accreditation is a plus.</li>
<li>Proficient in HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace, Carrier HAP) and building management systems (BMS).</li>
<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, internal and external teams.</li>
<li>Proven experience in mentoring junior engineers and guiding teams to success.</li>
<li>Strong work ethic and ability to work well with both a team and independently with minimal supervision.</li>
<li>Ability to work within an environment with deadlines, and when tasked with multiple duties your attention to detail stays consistent.</li>
