<div><div><div><b>Senior Logistics Engineer</b></div>
<p><b>Job Summary:</b></p>
<p>Responsible for analyzing and implementing improvement initiatives related to IFA supply chain receiving to inbound and manage outbound capacities. Designs, specifies and implements material flow and storage improvements based on Lean Manufacturing methodologies and processes to optimize productivity and reduce costs associated with material movements for incoming, in-process, storage and outbound transportation of materials.</p>

<div><b>Essential Functions:</b></div>
<div><ul><li>Work to continually improve flow of parts to achieve better cycle times and reduced costs through optimization of material flow with suppliers, partners (3PLs) and customers</li></ul>
<ul><li>Approve and maintain all applicable PFEP data and records in both a database and ERP system</li></ul>
<ul><li>Establish, maintain, and communicate material flow specifications</li></ul>
<ul><li>Investigate material flow issues and coordinate resolution both internally and externally</li></ul>
<ul><li>Coordinate optimized material flow processes with consideration of impact to other departments</li></ul>
<ul><li>Develop and maintain KPIs to measure and improve material flow to production and along the external supply chain.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Provide cost estimates for material handling activity for new program quotes</li></ul>
<ul><li>Support and contribute to lean manufacturing practices such as 5S, Kanban, poka-yoke, Kaizen, visual management, 1-piece flow, etc.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Recommend and plan material handling and equipment as appropriate</li></ul>
<ul><li>Keep management abreast of progress, developments and pending issues</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ensure maintenance of quality standards in compliance with TS16949</li></ul>
<ul><li>Perform special projects as needed</li></ul>
<ul><li>Provide training to personnel as needed</li></ul>

<ul><li>Deliver work purchases on time to meet customer / internal project milestones.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Coordinate selection and design of packaging containers with suppliers, customers, and logistics partners (returnable and expendable)</li></ul>
<ul><li>Develop and maintain metrics to measure and improve material flow to production</li></ul>
<ul><li>Provide cost estimates for material handling activity for new program quotes</li></ul>
<ul><li>All other job duties as assigned.</li></ul>
<p><b>Education:</b></p>
<p>Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering Required. Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field may be considered if they possess significant industrial engineering experience that demonstrates the required knowledge and skills.</p>

<div><p><b>Experience:</b></p>
<ul><li>Five or more years of progressive experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies, material handling and warehouse equipment and storage techniques</li></ul>
<ul><li>Prior experience with the efficient, on-time delivery of raw materials from an off-site warehouse to a production facility</li></ul>
<ul><li>Prior experience working with SAP</li></ul>
<ul><li>Prior experience in the automotive industry</li></ul>
<ul><li>Familiarity with AIAG Standards</li></ul>
<p><b>Specific Skills:</b></p>
<ul><li>Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)</li></ul>
<ul><li>Relatively high level of analytical and problem solving ability</li></ul>
<ul><li>Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must be self-directed, self-motivated and have the ability to work independently as well as an integral member of a team</li></ul>
<ul><li>Demonstrated understanding of MS Office software including Word, Excel, Visio, MS Project</li></ul>
<ul><li>German language skills preferred but not require</li></ul>
<div><p><b>Physical Requirements:</b></p>
<ul><li>Must be able to walk/move about a 500,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility: 90% of the time</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must be able to stand/walk/move about specific work area: 75% of the time</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must be able to bend/reach/twist/stoop: 40% of the time</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must be able to lift up to 30lbs on a frequent basis: 30% of the time</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must be able to lift over 30lbs on an infrequent basis: 10% of the time</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must be able to push/pull materials using motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment on an infrequent basis: 20% of the time</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must be able to sit at a work station: 80% of the time</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must be able to work and operate a computer terminal: 80% of the time</li></ul>
<ul><li>Vision is required to analyze and process work; and to work on computer terminal/machine centers, etc.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Hearing is essential for safety reasons; and to communicate with employees, supervisors, managers, vendors, suppliers and customers via conversation, group meetings, and/or phone conferences</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required</li></ul>
