Job Description
 IHI Power Service Corp. (IPSC) has a career opportunity for an Operations & Maintenance Technician at the Air Plant 1 plant in Moses Lake, WA. The hourly range for the position is $38.00 to $42.00 per hour, depending on experience.
 
Job Summary
 The Operations & Maintenance Technician is integral to our jet fuel production and decarbonization processes, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to safety and environmental standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in industrial operations, mechanical systems, and a passion for advancing sustainable technologies.
 
Job Functions
 
Operations: 
<ul>
<li>Monitor, operate, and maintain equipment used in the production of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF).</li>
<li>Execute startup, shutdown, and routine operational procedures for jet fuel synthesis systems.</li>
<li>Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues promptly to minimize downtime.</li>
</ul>
Maintenance & Repairs: 
<ul>
<li>Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability.</li>
<li>Conduct routine inspections and calibration of machinery to meet operational standards.</li>
<li>Collaborate with engineering teams for equipment upgrades and modifications.</li>
<li>Familiarity with decarbonization technologies, synthetic fuel production, and jet fuel processes.</li>
<li>Understanding of chemical processing equipment, including reactors, separators, and control systems.</li>
<li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.</li>
<li>Hands-on experience with pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and control systems.</li>
</ul>
Safety & Compliance: 
<ul>
<li>Follow strict safety protocols and environmental regulations to ensure compliance with local and international standards.</li>
<li>Participate in safety drills, hazard assessments, and emergency response procedures.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate documentation of operating logs, maintenance activities, safety inspections, and compliance records.</li>
</ul>
Process Optimization: 
<ul>
<li>Demonstrate knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.</li>
<li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.</li>
<li>Hands-on experience with pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and control systems.</li>
<li>Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, engineering, and operations.</li>
</ul>
Education and Experience – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
 <ul>
<li>High school diploma or GED; Associate’s degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Military or related field a plus</li>
<li>Technical certifications (e.g., OSHA, NCCER, or HAZWOPER) are a plus.</li>
<li>3+ years of experience in operations or maintenance within the energy, aviation, or fuel production sectors.</li>
<li>Experience with decarbonization technologies, synthetic fuels, or chemical processing is highly preferred.</li>
</ul>
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
 <ul>
<li>Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.</li>
<li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.</li>
<li>Must know the hazards involved and the safety precautions to be practiced in the operation and maintenance of industrial plant equipment and machinery.</li>
<li>Work within and ensure strict adherence to all safety practices and procedures.</li>
<li>Must possess basic math skills, good verbal communications skills, and be proficient with the use of power and precision tools; Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other technical reporting tools.</li>
<li>Aptitude for reading and interpreting technical diagrams, schematics, and documentation.</li>
<li>Skilled in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and operational data systems.</li>
<li>Must be cooperative with those he/she contacts in this work and have the ability to work without direct supervision.</li>
</ul>
Work Environment – Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
 <ul>
<li>Protective equipment such as hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, air masks, hearing protection, chemical suits, hot gloves, and other equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties.</li>
<li>Work with hazardous materials may be required.</li>
<li>Although predominately indoors, may include working outdoors.</li>
<li>All employees must observe the facilities’ security requirements.</li>
<li>Must be able to work in elevated areas, and confined spaces.</li>
</ul>
