<div><p>Imhotep Institute Charter High School (IICHS) is an African centered STEM school located in Northwest region of Philadelphia. The primary goal of Imhotep is to produce well rounded and productive lifelong learners through a culturally relevant program with high student academic achievement. Our underlying philosophy is a rigorous, integrative, curriculum combined with the historical and cultural richness of our African Heritage. Imhotep is a culturally-responsive school with connections to many community organizations and resources. Classes are held at the main campus, community partner sites, as well as dual enrollment at local colleges.</p>

Requirements</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Must hold PA Certification in the content area of interest</li>
<li>Must have current clearances: Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Criminal Background Check, FBI Fingerprinting check</li>
<li>Candidates with coursework in African American Studies, experience in alternative pedagogical development, including African Centered pedagogy and/or community program development is a plus</li>
<li>Experience working in an urban educational setting preferred</li>
</ul>

<ul><li>Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for English classes spanning grades 7 to 12.</li><li>Utilize effective classroom management techniques to create a conducive learning environment.</li><li>Incorporate literacy education strategies to enhance students' reading and writing skills.</li><li>Provide individualized support to students through tutoring and academic advising.</li><li>Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement a comprehensive English curriculum.</li><li>Utilize communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff members.</li><li>Stay updated on educational trends and best practices in English language teaching.</li><li>Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth.</li><li>Participate in program development initiatives related to English language studies.</li><li>Utilize organizational skills to maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance</li></ul></div>
