The Role
Index Engines has an outstanding career opportunity for principal level ML Software Engineers. The ideal candidate will develop, maintain, and support Machine Learning, infrastructure, and software for the Index Engines&rsquo; Linux application and will work closely with the business organizations to identify strategic customer needs that can be addressed with ML.
What You'll Do
<ul><li>Work as member of a Scrum team to design and develop models, infrastructure, and software components that ensure system operates per requirements. Implement and unit tests.</li>
<li>Work with other Scrum team members to integrate and test software modules.</li>
<li>Provide estimates for assigned tasks during release/sprint planning efforts.</li>
<li>Work with QA to review test plans and support QA activities during test phases.</li>
<li>Work with support to analyze and resolve customer impacting issues.</li>
<li>Work with Product Management to review requirements for new/proposed features.</li>
<li>Provide technical leadership within assigned areas of responsibility medium-large teams/features.</li>
</ul>
What You Bring
<ul><li>Deep understanding of the fundamental principles of classic ML and deep learning</li>
<li>Experience implementing and maintaining ML-based solutions</li>
<li>Experience with software development using Python and data science software tools</li>
<li>Proficient with the development of data structures and algorithms that are both performance oriented and able to scale to manage large datasets.</li>
<li>Agile Development methodology.</li>
<li>Strong Intrapersonal and teamwork skills.</li>
<li>Strong written and oral communications skills.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Enjoys working in a challenging and highly collaborative environment.</li>
<li>Able to work as part of a team.</li>
<li>Able to accommodate the time zone differences required to work with teams in the US and Asia.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Require minimal supervision and be able to operate in a matrixed organization.</li>
<li>Desire to learn new technologies.</li>
<li>PhD or master&rsquo;s degree in computer science or related field.</li>
<li>Minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience in software engineering.</li>
<li>Minimum of 3 years of professional experience with Machine Learning</li>
</ul>

<ul><li>Experience with software development using Python.</li>
<li>Software development in C for Linux.</li>
<li>Experience with virtualization environments</li>
<li>Experience with git, Jira and Confluence.</li>
<li>Experience within administration and sripting of Linux environments.</li>
<li>Experience with backup software/technology.</li>
<li>Experience with database management systems.</li>
<li>Knowledge of communication protocols.</li>
<li>Familiarity with server hardware and networking.</li>
