Summary
The Assistant Executive Housekeeper plays a key role in assisting the Executive Housekeeper in managing the daily operations of the Housekeeping, Laundry, and Houseperson teams. This role ensures that all guest rooms, public areas, and housekeeping facilities meet the hotel's cleanliness standards and that all associated tasks are completed efficiently. The Assistant Executive Housekeeper is responsible for supervising housekeeping staff, conducting inspections, managing supplies, and maintaining effective communication within the department. Additionally, this position includes administrative duties, such as inventory control, payroll processing, and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>
Responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, organization, and presentation. Duties include making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, restocking amenities, and reporting maintenance issues. Follows company procedures and safety guidelines to ensure a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests.</li><li>
Conduct opening procedures and distribute work assignments.</li><li>
Validate that all assigned guestrooms are inspected and that each room meets the hotel's cleanliness standards and that there is efficient stock and positioning of all guestroom amenities and supplies.</li><li>
Confirm guestroom status is updated in the Property Management System.</li><li>
Ensure all public areas are inspected and meet the hotel&rsquo;s cleanliness standards.</li><li>
Monitor all housekeeping storage closet supply levels, organization and cleanliness.</li><li>
Properly log and store all Lost and Found articles</li><li>
Ensure hallways are kept clear of trash, soiled linen, cribs, rollaways and other guest service equipment.</li><li>
Perform housekeeper duties as needed or assigned.</li><li>
Support in ensuring food quality and service standards are being maintained as required (if applicable).</li><li>
Assist in ensuring food sanitation and proper food handling standards are being followed (if applicable).</li><li>
Help oversee the supervision of all associates in the Housekeeping and Laundry departments</li><li>
Participate in effective departmental communication through logs, daily stand up meetings and monthly department meetings.</li><li>
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization&rsquo;s policies and applicable laws</li><li>
Aid in performing a variety of administrative tasks including maintaining an accurate inventory of supplies, processing department payroll and handling any accounting and purchasing functions.</li><li>
Collaborate in maintaining the cleanliness of the Housekeeping department and surrounding areas.</li><li>
Assist the General or Department Manager with planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.</li><li>
Assist in checking all fixtures, equipment and room conditions (television, radio, lights, heating/cooling, furniture, wallpaper, etc.) for proper operation, settings and maintenance. Report any deficiencies.</li></ul>
Requirements:

Qualifications
Six months to one year related experience and/or training; One year certificate from college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands
The Assistant Executive Housekeeper must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the supervisor is frequently exposed to chemicals and dust. The supervisor is occasionally exposed to odors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The associate works in an environment open to the general public.
