</p><p></p><p>The Warehouse Control System (WCS) is the central point of control for managing and optimizing the entire portfolio of automated material handling equipment in a warehouse. It works across different vendors and types of automation devices, for example, ASRS, sorters, shuttle systems, and conveyors.
</p><p></p><h1 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>What a day in the life looks like:
</b></h1><div><ul><li><p>Design, implement, and continuously improve the automation framework for our products within an agile setup
</p></li><li><p>Develop and maintain back-end integration tests using Java Spring and JUnit
</p></li><li><p>Create and support integration testing with Cucumber, including guidance for team members
</p></li><li><p>Build and execute front-end integration tests with Playwright
</p></li><li><p>Collaborate closely with international teams across North America and Europe
</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>This is a remote-based role within Germany. Working pattern is Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week.
</b></p><p></p><h1 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>What you bring to the team:
</b></h1><div><ul><li><p>Degree in computer science, automation, or a comparable qualification, combined with 5+ years of experience in software quality engineering
</p></li><li><p>Strong expertise in Java Spring test development with JUnit and solid experience with modern test automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress)
</p></li><li><p>Hands-on experience with relational databases, test planning, and test automation (ideally with Azure DevOps), plus familiarity with version control tools such as Git
</p></li><li><p>Structured and analytical mindset, paired with strong communication skills in both German and English
</p></li><li><p>Independent, reliable, and flexible working style, combined with a team-oriented mindset and resilience in fast-paced environments

</p><p></p><p>We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Senior Software Engineer with Python &amp; GenAI skills to join our growing global and distributed product development team. As a tech savvy AI software craftsman, you must have a deep understanding of coding principles, understand object-oriented programming and appreciate the agile development way of working. All developers are encouraged to consistently assist in innovation of the software development in terms of agility, DevOps and modern development technologies.

</p></li><li><p>Collaborate cross-functionally with product, data &amp; engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable AI solutions
</p></li><li><p>Deliver high-quality, unit- &amp; integration-tested components following best practices and Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
</p></li><li><p>Contribute to feature estimation, system enhancements and continuous optimisation of algorithms and AI performance
</p></li><li><p>Work in a fast-paced, agile environment, taking ownership beyond your core scope and supporting broader team initiatives
</p></li></ul><p></p><h1 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>What you bring to the team:
</b></h1><ul><li><p>5+ years in software engineering with strong Python skills and experience in AI/GenAI (LangChain, Google ADK, LLMs, agentic systems)
</p></li><li><p>Hands-on experience building &amp; deploying AI solutions (RAG, embeddings, fine-tuning, AI APIs &amp; web services)
</p></li><li><p>Strong data skills (PostgreSQL, vector DBs) and understanding of software architecture, design patterns &amp; microservices
</p></li><li><p>Experience with CI/CD (Azure DevOps), testing (unit/integration), Git, containers (Docker/Kubernetes) and development tools (VS Code, PyCharm)
</p></li><li><p>Solid analytical mindset, strong problem-solving skills, prompt engineering expertise and understanding of responsible AI (bias/safety)
</p></li><li><p>Strong communication &amp; collaboration skills; ideally mentoring experience, Agile mindset and domain exposure (retail/logistics/supply chain)
