Job Description 
CIO Dive is looking for a staff reporter to join an ambitious team covering enterprise IT.
As a part of your regular duties as a staff reporter, you will report and write on news impacting the industry, build sources and interview industry executives, analysts and other relevant newsmakers. You will produce a mix of short daily stories, including quick-turn news, as well as longer feature articles.
In this role on CIO Dive, you&rsquo;ll dive into the fast-paced world of business technology and strategy, writing briefs, articles and features to help tech executives cut through the growing noise.
You will cultivate a beat, learn and analyze the trends impacting CIOs, develop relationships with key industry sources, collaborate with your team daily and travel to cover relevant industry events.
We don&rsquo;t expect candidates to be experts on CIOs or IT. We are looking for candidates who will bring their curiosity to the table and are eager to hone their business journalism skills and write for a target audience.
What you&rsquo;ll do<ul><li>
Report and write on a daily basis</li><li>
Develop skills in source development, news judgment, story pitching, subject matter expertise and beat ownership</li><li>
Assist with editing and production for the website and newsletters</li><li>
Collaborate with the CIO Dive team and other newsroom journalists</li><li>
Track analytics to gauge what stories are resonating with readers</li><li>
Help with shared social media duties</li></ul> 

Qualifications 
<ul><li>
Strong reporting and writing skills</li><li>
Deadline-oriented time management skills</li><li>
Ability to report and write multiple stories each week on varied business topics</li><li>
Ability to report and write in different story formats, such as breaking news and in-depth features</li><li>
Experience with journalism style, such as the AP Stylebook, familiarity with fact-checking and copy editing</li><li>
Deep curiosity about complex topics</li><li>
A desire to grow as a business journalist</li><li>
1-2 years experience on a publication or experience with a college paper, internship, or academic journalism program</li><li>
A bachelor&rsquo;s degree</li></ul> 

Additional Information 
The salary range for the role is $55,000 to $70,000, depending on experience.
