About this Role:

IFS InfraSource is seeking a qualified construction estimator with experience in the Electrical outside utility industry. Primary responsibilities include timely and accurate development of bids and proposals for the management and construction of Aerial / Underground civil / Electrical T&amp;D and substation installations. Typical projects include Aerial / Underground T&amp;D and substation projects, relocation and replacement projects in the public ROW&rsquo;s and private easements. The successful applicant will possess practical field knowledge of the methods related to this type of work including open excavation, Electrical T&amp;D, &amp; Substation work.</div>
What You'll Do:
<ul><li>Review work requirements with local operations management</li><li>
Research and define cost elements related to project construction including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors</li><li>
Identify risks and develop project contingencies</li><li>
Prepare written proposal outlining clarifications, exceptions and assumptions</li><li>
Present final draft to upper management for final determination and risk assessment</li><li>
Submit approved final bid to customer by stated due date</li><li>
Serve as business development representative/contact person with customers and vendors.</li><li>
Collaborate with Business Development team for large customer engagements</li><li>
Maintain open lines of communication with existing customers</li><li>
Actively pursue future customers/additional work and follow up on potential leads</li><li>
Support other regional business units by following leads as assigned</li><li>
Notate essential topics of discussion at the meeting</li><li>
Attain a thorough understanding of the scope of work including desired construction methods, project timelines and customer expectations</li><li>
Ask project related questions and record customer response</li><li>
Visit job location to assess site conditions and assess constructability</li><li>
Provide job related documentation to field operations, project management staff and back office/administrative staff as needed</li><li>
Participate in contract pre-planning meetings</li><li>
Assist in preparing and submitting project/contract deliverables to the customer as required by the contract and InfraSource internal requirements</li><li>
Proactively identify known or anticipated construction problems and suggest solutions to minimize cost and mitigate risk</li><li>
Assist field personnel in developing and/or recommending change orders as needed</li><li>
Negotiate positive resolutions with customer on any disputes that may arise</li><li>
Maintain files as back-up for estimate figures</li></ul>
What You'll Bring:
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree and 5 years&rsquo; experience <i>or equivalent combination of education and experience required.</i> Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.</li></ul><ul><li>
Expert in MS Office Applications: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point</li><li>
Expert organizer (notes, files, documents, etc.)</li><li>
Proficient in Technical Writing/Correspondence</li><li>
Proficient in reading prints and performing quantity and material takeoffs</li><li>
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimum guidance</li><li>

Experience with B2W / Heavybid Software is not required, but would be a plus</li></ul><div>
This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug &amp; alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and/or 49 CFR Part 199.</div>
