Position Overview:
The Tax Analyst will report to the Manager of Indirect Tax and Technology and will play a vital role in the global indirect tax workspace. The ideal candidate will have a fundamental understanding of the global indirect tax compliance process, including sales, use and property filings. Regardless of background, excellent analytical, organization, and communication skills, an eagerness to learn, and self-starting drive will make you a key addition to the team.
How you will impact Ingevity:
<ul><li>Fully support the global indirect tax compliance lifecycle, including coordination with third-party service providers
</li><li>Prepare reconciliation of all sales, use, and property tax accounts
</li><li>With guidance, resolve indirect tax related notices from various tax jurisdictions
</li><li>Support sales and property tax audits, including working closely with other internal departments and location personnel, along with external consultants that may be involved in the review
</li><li>Conduct preliminary tax research using available tax research tools
</li><li>Support internal requests to resolve tax related customer inquiries and business unit procurement processes
</li><li>Reviewing, validating, and support management of exemption certificates
</li></ul>What you need to succeed:
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in accounting or finance required
</li><li>Up to three years of experience in sales and property taxes with multi-jurisdictional exposure
</li><li>VAT tax compliance experience a plus
</li><li>Familiarity with sales tax compliance software and ERP systems, Vertex and SAP preferred
</li><li>Process Improvement/Continuous improvement mindset
</li><li>Ability to demonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving skills and be eager to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment
</li></ul>Working Format: This role follows a hybrid schedule based at our North Charleston, SC headquarters.
