Job Description 
List of Responsibilities
The Facade Designer forms part of the Design team within the global structure of the company and assumes general responsibilities that pro-actively contribute to the growth of Fa&ccedil;ade Design capabilities and all other disciplines across the globe.
This includes responsibility for all design, documentation, administration and compliance with project constraints undertaken for Fa&ccedil;ade and all other disciplines. You will also need to fulfill legal responsibilities commensurate with your position.

Major Function
Duties include but not limited to:<ul><li>
Produce details of fa&ccedil;ade systems based on architectural sketches and assist in the delivery of detailed fa&ccedil;ade tender packages</li><li>
Provide 2D drafting using Autocad software for architectural documentation and detail working drawings such as architectural fa&ccedil;ade tender submissions and shop drawing packages for Fa&ccedil;ade/Curtain wall projects and prepare material schedules</li><li>
Provide 3D drafting using AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, Solidworks and/or Sketchup Pro to develop 3 dimensional details for the purposes of design development and/or drawing documentation as required</li><li>
Interpret and produce fabrication level detailed drawings, sketches and written instructions</li><li>
Prepare fa&ccedil;ade technical specifications</li><li>
Coordinate with the relevant parties to raise/resolve project related issues which could affect the delivery of the documentation</li><li>
Follow the general drawing protocols and cad file system set by Inhabit</li><li>
Maintain internal document control of drawings and changes in accordance with Inhabit standards</li><li>
Review and evaluate design deliverables to ensure build ability and compliance, liaising with the client&rsquo;s design team and specialist suppliers</li><li>
Coordinate with the relevant parties to raise/resolve project related issues which could affect the delivery of the documentation and update your manager / project leader as required</li><li>
Manage time to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget</li><li>
Provide assistance to engineers and design team in regards to cad or hand sketches for presentation purposes as required</li><li>
Monitor Design output from offices across the region and review shop drawings from contractors</li><li>
Liaise with other staff, project teams, associated consultants and clients, and assist in building and maintaining relationships to determine best fa&ccedil;ade design outcomes</li><li>
Actively participate in design workshops and meetings, where cladding solutions are explored and determined. Workshops and meetings will be with clients, architects and contractors</li><li>
Provide training in Design to other members of the team as required</li><li>
Develop own skills in design, engineering, materials, etc.</li><li>
Keep an up-to-date working knowledge of relevant design techniques, technical standards, codes of practice and systems and procedures and share knowledge and update technical library</li><li>
Keep up to date with design software new to the market that will help develop our business</li><li>
Evaluate opportunities for improved efficiencies and effectiveness in consultation with management including identifying, developing and implementing standards, systems, tools and processes to support continuous improvement within the business</li><li>
Take an active interest in the other disciplines (BMU, Lighting, Acoustics, Building Physics, Logistics etc..) in order to further develop your specialist skills</li></ul>
Project Operation / Management
You shall be responsible for efficient and profitable completion of all projects and tasks under your control whilst maintaining excellent technical standards and client satisfaction. Detailed responsibilities and/or targets include:<ul><li>

Technical Quality Control
You shall assume full responsibility for work quality undertaken, including:<ul><li>
Take necessary action to prevent the occurrence of design documentation and/or quality system non-conformity</li><li>
Advise management if any tasks are beyond your current level of competency to get assistance, as and when required</li><li>
Ensure all project documentation is maintained to a level as required by Inhabits&rsquo; Quality Manager and QA system</li><li>
Endorse and facilitate the quality management system (QMS) and the Business&rsquo;s commitment to quality</li></ul>
Mentoring, Training and Personal Growth<ul><li>
Participate in educational programs and skill-based training as required</li><li>
Coordinate, participate and actively contribute to design workshops, where facade solutions are explored and determined. Workshops may be with architects, suppliers and fellow professionals and with the facade industry</li><li>

Qualifications 
Bachelor of Architecture or Bachelor of Engineering is preferable.
The candidate shall have a minimum of 3 years experience in a facade designer role
