Job Description:
The Patient Care Assistant I is a Part Time, Regular position working Saturday and Sunday, 12 hour shifts 7am-7:30pm at Providence Medical Park Imaging Center (Valley Park).
Summary: To assist the radiologists and technologists to obtain the highest quality studies and to effect the most efficient workflow in the department.
General Description: The Patient Care Assistant &ndash; MRI must be able to: work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment in meeting continual deadlines; handle multiple priorities with constant interruptions; be highly organized to meet deadlines. Organizational skills are essential. Interacts with the radiologists, other departments within Inland Imaging, patients and family members and outside contacts. Excellent written, verbal and personal communication skills; be tactful and diplomatic; and be highly confidential. Makes decisions regarding daily work priorities and other decisions based on company policies and procedures.

<ul><li>Escort patients to exam rooms and instruct patient in the appropriate preparation for exam
</li><li>Maintain clean, well stocked exam and dressing rooms
</li><li>Pull previous studies and reports
</li><li>Assist scheduling department with scheduling patients and call backs as needed
</li><li>Assist Technologists with patients as needed
</li><li>Interact with Nursing, Front Office Core, and Reading Room Assistants to ensure smooth work flow throughout the clinic or hospital
</li><li>Maintain clean scan room environment
</li><li>Use required computer programs proficiently
</li><li>May transport patients to/from inpatient department or Emergency Room to/from Inland Imaging department.
</li><li>Knowledgeable of hospital codes and infection status (if applicable)
</li><li>This position may be required to work in a hospital, urgent care or clinical setting.
</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned

<ul><li>May be required to complete a course in back safety prior to working with patients
</li><li>Ability to maintain strict confidentiality within the Inland Imaging companies and Inland&rsquo;s customers.

<ul><li>Education: High School Diploma/GED required
</li><li>Experience: One year minimum experience in the medical field.
<ul><li>Anatomy and medical terminology preferred.
</li><li>Medical office experience preferred.
</li><li>Understanding of MRI procedures to be read by radiologist preferred.
</li></ul></li><li>Computer Skills : Experience with the following computer applications is highly desired: Outlook; Kronos; Replicon; Imagecast; Stentor; IDXterm; Flowcast; Allscripts; Intranet, EPIC and Medicalis
</li><li>Background Check :
<ul><li>Must be able to pass a background check required by RCW 43.43.830-840 to work with children under the age of 16, developmentally disabled persons or vulnerable adults

Patient Care Assistant I
