Job Purpose: Performs classroom support assisting classroom teachers with daily classroom activities.Qualifications:&middot; High school diploma or GED; one (1) year of experience with children (preferred).&middot; DCF Training (Required to substitute for pre-k).Essential Duties and Responsibilities:&middot; Carries out clerical duties as needed by the classroom teacher.&middot; Prepares instructional materials based on teacher directions.&middot; Maintains supplies and equipment for classroom use.&middot; Monitors student activities and behavior during/and without classroom teachers.&middot; May be assigned monitoring duties i.e., lunch, restroom, and car-rider duties.&middot; Escorts children to classes or specialized functions.&middot; Perform other related duties as required.Physical Requirements/Activity:&middot; Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently.&middot; The position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, lift (up to 20 pounds), finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing acuity, and visual acuity.&middot; Indoor and Outdoor: Substitute is subject to both environmental conditions.
