A local dental and orthodontic practice seeks an ambitious and enthusiastic person to join their team for a front desk receptionist. If you have 1-2 years of dental experience operating a computer, good telephone skills and a friendly, positive outlook, you may be excellent for this position. Email or fax your detailed resume with a cover page to our office at 321-765-4291.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for maintaining appearance and order of dental office, patient scheduling, patient management and insurance verification/breakdown for patients.SPECIFIC DUTIESReception Managemento Check the daily schedule for accuracy and provide schedule to dental team as appropriateo Answer and respond to telephone calls with professionalismPatient Managemento Maintain a professional reception area/office (organize patient education materials and magazines, straighten up the facility, oversee cleaning service schedule and duties, etc.)o Greet and welcome patients and visitors to the practiceo Check in patients according to office protocol, verifying and updating health informationo Providing and documenting HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices according to office policies and procedureso Manage recall and inactive patient systemo Confirm upcoming appointmentso Schedule patients for efficient use of doctor and staff timeo Check patient back up list to try to fill in cancellation and no-show appointment timeso Collect payment from patients at time of treatmento Schedule follow-up appointments as directedRecords Managemento Gather and accurately record dental, medical and insurance information from patientso Securely store and handle records in compliance with legal requirements, including HIPAA regulationso Manage and update patient information via electronic health record systemo Arrange patient information (charts, x-rays, etc.) for the next day&rsquo;s appointmentso Track cases and referrals to and from other doctorsInsuranceo Keep patients&rsquo; insurance information up to dateo Submit treatment plans for predetermination of benefitso Prepare claim forms for patients with dental insuranceo Organize supporting materials for claim forms, such as radiographs or written narrativeso Submit claim forms from office to dental benefits planso Assist in the resolution of problems with third-party payersCommunicationso Sort, organize and distribute mailo Coordinate and send the following:* New patient and referral thank you notes* Other correspondence as directed by the dentist* Work with external vendor to coordinate automatic patient appointment and recallremindersOffice Participationo Be an active participant in team meetingo Perform other tasks as assigned by the dentistPERSONNEL REQUIREMENTSEducation/Experienceo High school diploma or equivalento 2 years&rsquo; office experience preferredo Working knowledge of computers for word processing, scheduling, insurance claims processing and records managementInterpersonalo Good interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists, other staff members and communityo Effective verbal skills to communicate with patients and staffJob Type: Full-timeSalary: $11.00 to $13.00 /hourJob Type: Full-timePay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>High school or equivalent (Preferred)</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred)</li><li>Computer skills: 1 year (Preferred)</li><li>Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
