<div>The AP Specialist is responsible for overseeing the accounts payable function, the timely and accurate payment for goods and services, including employee reimbursements, and ensuring compliance with purchasing and accounting policies and procedures. 
Essential Duties:
<ul>
<li>Oversees payment processing, policies and coding related to the AP function</li>
<li>Validates invoices, payment vouchers, purchase orders, and payroll vendors for entire organization; reviews for appropriate account coding and compliance with various policies and procedures (purchasing, travel, accounting, and sponsored programs)</li>
<li>Inputs validated data into accounts payable module of accounting software system</li>
<li>Researches and solves questions and concerns of vendors and internal customers; reconciles vendor statements/payments as needed (including travel agencies)</li>
<li>Manages 1099 reporting</li>
<li>Recommends improved business processes regarding Accounts Payable</li>
<li>Manages bank Positive Pay lists for checks and validates /rejects any exceptions</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul> 


Required Education, Skills &amp; Experience:
<ul>
<li>A high school diploma or equivalent</li>
<li>2+ years of accounts payable experience or equivalent combination of training and experience</li>
<li>Ability to use relevant computer software and systems including Excel</li>
<li>Ability to perform accurate basic mathematical functions</li>
<li>Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing</li>
<li>A high degree of professional integrity, discretion, and confidentiality</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a diverse population and range of personalities</li>
<li>Adaptable to changing work requirements</li>
<li>Must be currently eligible to work in the United States on a full-time basis.</li></ul> 


All ISB staff members are expected to have baseline technical skills and the ability to communicate effectively and appropriately over email, the intranet/forum, etc. Employees should be able to use Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint at a functional level. 
Preferred Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>An Associate&rsquo;s degree in accounting or other relevant discipline</li></ul> 


Physical Demands:

Position is in a typical office environment with no adverse environmental conditions expected. Regularly requires sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Frequently required to communicate with others using voice and hearing to exchange information. Regularly requires repeating motions that may include hands, wrist, or fingers (e.g. using a computer keyboard). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. 
Pay Range: expected hourly wage $27-29
