Integrated Dx is seeking a Specimen Collector for our Harlan, Kentucky location. This position requires availability on Tuesdays for about 6-8 hours. This position is responsible for the following:- Collects patient samples via urine cup collection, or other manner via established lab protocol- Disposes of biomedical waste according to state standards- Utilizes personal protective equipment as needed- Works within safety policies and procedures defined by lab protocol- Maintains the collection space in a safe and clean manner- Interacts in a professional and courteous manner with patients and clients at all times- Provides patient with preparation and collection instructions for lab testing- Helpful to patients and clients in answering questions and follow-ups as necessary- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times- Follows the physician&rsquo;s orders when ordering tests- Verifies insurance and correctly enters into the system- Ensures that the specimen meets sample requirements for in-house testing as well as testing sent to reference labs- Ensures that lab test requisitions are accurately completed and follows-up for additional information if needed- Orders tests in the LIS accurately and in a timely manner- Checks sample label before placing bar code label on the sample, ensuring positive identification- Properly processes the samples and maintains specimen integrity at all timesSkills- Excellent customer service skills- Proficient in Microsoft word- Proficient in Data EntryJob Type: Part-timeBenefits:<ul><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>High school or equivalent (Required)</li></ul>License/Certification:<ul><li>Driver's License (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Relocate:<ul><li>Harlan, KY: Relocate before starting work (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
