<p>
The Library Assistant will be part of a dynamic Library Team. The position is primarily responsible for providing assistance to the School Librarian, as well as maintaining a close working relationship with BSD teachers, students and other ISG Library staff and assisting with programs and events.</p>
<h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Position Duties</b></h2>
<p>
The successful candidate will be able to effectively:</p>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrate a commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection).</li>
<li>Utilise and maintain/update the Destiny Platform.</li>
<li>Manage circulation responsibilities as needed.</li>
<li>Catalogue library books and resources following library policies, and order, manage, and maintain library supplies.</li>
<li>Shelve returned books on a daily basis as well as as keeping shelves straight and orderly.</li>
<li>Maintain library inventory of assets and equipment.</li>
<li>Run circulation reports and send electronic overdue notices to all patrons on a monthly basis.</li>
<li>Manage account clearance and enrollment documentation for withdrawing students and graduating students.</li>
<li>Manage and maintain all matters pertaining to patrons&rsquo; accounts, communication, and follow-up with overdue books.</li>
<li>Repair damaged library books and resources following professional guidelines and instruction.</li>
<li>Coordinate class scheduling with librarians and prepare library bags and shelf markers for classes.</li>
<li>Collaborate with the librarian to design and create eye-catching, interest-generating book displays to encourage reading across all schools.</li>
<li>Take photos to document activities that occur in the library for social media sites, display tv or bulletin board.</li>
<li>Help support all reading promotion and activities that occur in the library.</li>
<li>Run regular reports necessary for maintaining the library collection and share with librarians.</li>
<li>Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of ISG District and library organisation policies, practices and procedures.</li>
<li>Coordinate/plan events for the school.</li>
<li>Sign the staff&rsquo;s Exit Form for leaving staff when the librarian is unavailable.</li>
<li>Respond appropriately to the range of individual needs and abilities among students.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned by the librarian, Head of School or Principal.</li>

The International Schools Group (ISG) is a not-for-profit, future-focused school district in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. Our five schools, located on four sites, are co-educational day schools delivering Kindergarten 1 to Grade 12 in the American program and Foundation Stage 1 through Year 13 in the British programme to expatriate students as well as some students from the host country. Students enrol in either an American or British curriculum education which encompasses the following school-specific higher-level programs: Advanced Placement (AP) Capstone Diploma, International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), (I)GCSE and A levels.</p>

History</b>
</p><p>Founded in 1962, ISG was originally established to serve the needs of expatriate families working for the U.S. Consulate in Dhahran.
</p><p>From its initial enrolment of six students to its present status as a district of five schools with approximately 3,400 students, ISG has earned a reputation for providing the highest quality American and British curriculum education. Today, over 70 nationalities make up the ISG community.</p>

</p><p>The district is governed by a Board of Trustees, supported by school councils and a partnership with the U.S. Consulate, and is licensed by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Education.</p>

</p><p>All schools are accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA-CESS). British School Dhahran and Sara Village School are accredited by British Schools Overseas (BSO).
