 is responsible for assisting engineers by performing a variety of testing, project specific observations and report data.

 What you&rsquo;ll do:
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Will work from construction drawings, specifications, diagrams, ASTM standards, schematics and specific verbal and written instructions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Neatly and accurately complete all required paperwork, including daily reports, test reports and timesheets &ndash; in a timely manner
 </li>
 <li>
 Record and reports test results after performing mathematical calculations, making graphical solutions and graphical representations
 </li>
 <li>
 Communicate orally and in writing with engineers and staff members, agency representatives, contractors and business and property owners
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform maintenance/cleaning of equipment and calibration and adjustments as needed
 </li>
 <li>
 Adhere to construction site safety guidelines and promotes a safe working environment
 </li>
 <li>
 Inspection of construction operations
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Minimum Requirements &amp; Qualifications:
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Minimum of 2-5+ years of welding, QC, or inspection of structural steel experience is required.
 </li>
 <li>
 High School Diploma or GED
 </li>
 <li>
 Must successfully pass pre-employment background and Motor Vehicle check.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to climb ladders, bend, crawl, push and pull, stretch, sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time
 </li>
 <li>
 Valid driver&rsquo;s license and reliable driving record (required)
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to lift up to 50lbs
 </li>
 <li>
 Reliable transportation to and from the office.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to pay close attention to detail.
 </li>
 <li>
 Must be professional in appearance and dress.
 </li>
 <li>
 Must be punctual and dependable.
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.

 Preferred Requirements &amp; Qualifications:

 CWI certification with D1.1 experience
 </li>
 <li>
 ICC S1 Structural Bolting and S2 Structural Welding certifications are preferred
 </li>
 <li>
 Liquid Penetrant and Mag Particle experience is preferred
 </li>
 <li>
 UTSW experience is preferred
 </li>
 <li>
 MT, PT, UT and/or RT Certifications preferred.

 The CWI is responsible for employing their knowledge and training of welding processes, test methods, discontinuities, materials, qualifications, and standards to ensure that weldments and weld-related activities comply with all applicable quality and safety criteria at
 
 multiple construction projects throughout the Greater Nashville area
 
 .
 
 
 
 This is a full-time, year-round position - it is not tied to a single project, shutdown, turnaround, or for a defined period of time.
 
 We are
 
 not
 
 hiring for a traveling or temporary pipeline project and therefore are
 
 not offering per diem or a short-term/project rate
 
 . The ideal candidate will be based in the Greater Nashville area and open to performing construction materials testing (CMT) tasks as needed when welding inspection work is not active or currently needed.

 What you&rsquo;ll do:
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Ensure compliance with safety and environment guidelines, policies, and regulations
 </li>
 <li>
 Testing and inspection of structural steel during erection on general building and pipeline sites, as well as occasional plant inspections
 </li>
 <li>
 Inspect general construction and structural steel erection for buildings
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform visual inspections on welded products in progress and completed jobs
 </li>
 <li>
 Inspect welding jobs for defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut etc.
 </li>
 <li>
 Record results of tests and welding inspections
 </li>
 <li>
 Able to issue and follow up on non-conformances until the close out
 </li>
 <li>
 Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component
 </li>
 <li>
 Reviews all welded products or components and provides input to the decision of whether to accept or reject the product
 </li>
 <li>
 Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures
 </li>
 <li>
 Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management
 </li>
 <li>
 Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications
 </li>
 <li>
 Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers
 </li>
 <li>
 May also, operates testing equipment and conducts testing, (example: Soil, concrete or other) and provides assessment of data through reporting
 </li>
 <li>
 Operates a calculator to calculate mathematical test results
 </li>
 <li>
 Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 What it takes to be successful in this role:
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 High School Diploma or equivalent required
 </li>
 <li>
 Must have AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification with D1.1 experience
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience required
 </li>
 <li>
 Must be available for long-term, stable employment (not temporary or singular project-based assignments)
 </li>
 <li>
 Must be willing to perform construction materials testing as needed
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to read blueprints and understand, and interpret tolerances
 </li>
 <li>
 Computer Skills: Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications
 </li>
 <li>
 Must be able to receive, understand, and execute written and verbal directions
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal &amp; written communication
 </li>
 <li>
 Must be able to work well independently and with others
 </li>
 <li>
 Must be able to periodically work off shifts and overtime
 </li>
 <li>
 Valid Driver&rsquo;s License and reliable driving record (required)
