</h2>Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Iowa State University Library is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time (40 hours per week) Evening Library Assistant III and a full-time (40 hours per week) Weekend/Evening Library Assistant III. As a member of the Access Services team at ISU Library, this person provides circulation and limited reference services to the ISU community and is responsible for providing a safe environment within the library. They functionally oversee student employees, assisting with training and ensuring student employees complete daily tasks, and provide excellent customer service at our main service point and throughout the building. The Library Assistant III serves as the primary supervisor on duty during evening and/or weekend library hours. This position is responsible for the opening and/or closing duties of Parks Library and conducting safety rounds throughout the building.
These positions require an ability to both work independently and function well within a team, provide excellent customer service in a variety of situations, task switch with frequent interruptions, resolve problems in a timely manner, and readily respond to changing circumstances. These skills will aid the candidate in formulating and implementing innovative approaches and solutions to problems and communicating complex ideas to a wide range of audiences.

</li><li>Experience with Microsoft Office suite, similar tools, and the ability to learn and use new technologies.
</li><li>Previous functional supervision.

 The Office of Student Information (OSI) is excited to announce an opening for a Business Systems Analyst II position. This position is focused on the entire Workday Student ecosystem related to the responsibilities of the Financials team, including responsibilities related to the Office of Student Financial Aid, Accounts Receivable and Finance. The successful candidate will analyze and execute work with a cross-functional lens to ensure configuration has considered all possible down-stream and cross-stream impacts.
 
 
 
 Key Responsibilities Include
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Assists with the collection, analysis, testing and documentation of data to support student business operations and configuration.
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs the configuration of Workday to support the success of all stakeholder units.
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs support ticket resolution or escalation as needed. Executes continuous improvement efforts regarding policies and procedures, communication plans, and new processes to support stakeholder area success.

 Additional information: Hybrid work environment with remote and on campus duties. Core hours are M-F 8am-5pm with the option of 7:30am-4pm with appropriate coverage.
 
 
 We are looking for candidates that have a problem-solving and solution-oriented mindset with related experience in customer service, business systems analysis or related work (software development, network diagnostics, or solution design as examples) to show the execution of those skills.

</h2>Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
<div>The Postdoctoral Research Associate will design, conduct, and manage research on soil and plant root microbiomes using advanced molecular techniques, including Nanopore and Illumina sequencing, microbial cultivation, and nitrogen isotope approaches to quantify microbial and plant nitrogen use.
This position will coordinate field and laboratory sample collection efforts, collaborate with research partners, and supervise and train research assistants to ensure high-quality data and sample integrity. The Postdoc will perform bioinformatic and statistical analyses of microbiome, soil, and plant datasets using tools such as R or Python, integrating findings to interpret biological and ecological relationships.
The role also includes preparing data summaries, reports, manuscripts, and grant materials, as well as presenting research findings to funding agencies and scientific audiences.
</div>Required Minimum Qualifications:
 
Ph. D. in microbiology or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
<div><ul><li>Experience conducting independent research involving microbial communities, including proficiency in DNA/RNA extraction, library preparation, and sequencing using Nanopore and/or Illumina platforms.
</li><li>Experience cultivating microbes under aerobic and hypoxic conditions, including phenotypic and genotypic characterization.
</li><li>Experience using bioinformatic tools and pipelines for amplicon sequencing-based microbiome analysis, as well as microbial whole genome assembly and annotation.
