You'll work directly with the people who make product decisions and see your changes live in front of real users the same day you ship them.</li></ul>THE ROLE We're hiring two Software Engineers &mdash; one junior and one mid-level &mdash; to join us full-time in our London office. Both roles are responsible for maintaining and continually improving the web products that power our eight comparison brands: quote funnels, results pages, payment flows, WordPress content sites, a Laravel partner portal, and the serverless workers and APIs that tie everything together.This is a broad, hands-on role. Because each brand has its own history and deployment, our stack is deliberately varied: no-build vanilla-JS Cloudflare Pages sites, a Next.js / TypeScript / Tailwind app, a Svelte/SvelteKit portal monorepo, WordPress sites with custom themes and plugins, and a Laravel/PHP partner portal.The junior role suits someone with a solid grasp of HTML/CSS/JS who is ready to grow into a broad stack with guidance. The mid-level role suits someone with 2&ndash;4 years of commercial experience who can work independently across the stack and take ownership of features end to end. Apply for whichever fits &mdash; we'll discuss level at the screening stage.Salary: &pound;28,000 &ndash; &pound;36,000 (junior) or &pound;40,000 &ndash; &pound;50,000 (mid-level).WHAT YOU'LL DO<ul><li>Build and iterate on multi-step web forms, quote-comparison interfaces, payment pages, and landing pages across our product portfolio</li><li>Maintain and extend our WordPress sites &mdash; editing themes, updating custom plugins, and deploying changes safely</li><li>Integrate and maintain third-party APIs &mdash; address lookup, lender data, Google Maps, Stripe payments, Trustpilot/Google reviews, HubSpot, email delivery (SendGrid), and more</li><li>Write and maintain serverless Cloudflare Workers and Pages Functions (TypeScript and vanilla JS) that proxy and protect backend services</li><li>Deploy and manage applications on DigitalOcean (App Platform and Droplets) and Cloudflare, including basic Nginx and PM2 configuration</li><li>Run and evaluate A/B experiments: ship a variant, read the numbers, decide what sticks</li><li>Keep front-ends snappy and accessible &mdash; performance budgets, caching headers, and Core Web Vitals matter here</li><li>Work through a GitHub pull-request workflow with CI/CD: feature branch &rarr; automated checks &rarr; PR review &rarr; preview deploy &rarr; merge to main &rarr; live</li><li>Use AI-assisted engineering tools (Claude Code) as a first-class part of your daily workflow &mdash; writing, reviewing, and debugging code with agentic assistance</li><li>Investigate and fix bugs reported by the team or flagged by monitoring tools</li></ul>WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORRequired for both roles<ul><li>Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript &mdash; you can build a form from scratch without a framework</li><li>Comfort reading and writing vanilla JS (we have codebases with no build step; you should be able to debug in a browser's DevTools without a source map)</li><li>Some experience with Git and GitHub (branches, pull requests, resolving merge conflicts)</li><li>Ability to work and communicate in English</li><li>Additionally required for the mid-level role</li><li>2&ndash;4 years of commercial web development experience</li><li>Ability to take a feature from brief to production with minimal guidance</li><li>Confident working across both frontend and backend in the same week</li><li>Experience debugging across the full request lifecycle (browser &rarr; CDN &rarr; serverless function &rarr; external API)</li></ul>Nice to have &mdash; Frontend<ul><li>WordPress theme or plugin development (PHP templating, WP hooks, the WP admin)</li><li>Any exposure to React, Next.js, Svelte, or SvelteKit</li><li>TypeScript basics</li><li>Tailwind CSS or CSS custom properties</li><li>HubSpot CMS &mdash; HubDB, custom modules, or HubL templates</li></ul>Nice to have &mdash; Backend &amp; infrastructure<ul><li>PHP &mdash; Laravel or any MVC framework</li><li>Node.js server-side development (HTTP module, Express, Fastify, Hono, or similar)</li><li>SQL databases &mdash; MySQL or PostgreSQL (writing queries, understanding migrations)</li><li>Cloudflare Workers / Pages, Cloudflare D1, or any serverless platform</li><li>Basic Linux server administration &mdash; SSH, environment variables, PM2, Nginx config</li><li>Docker basics (docker-compose for local development)</li><li>AWS (S3 or any cloud storage)</li><li>DigitalOcean App Platform or Droplets</li></ul>Nice to have &mdash; Integrations &amp; tooling<ul><li>Stripe or any payment API Email delivery APIs (SendGrid or similar)</li><li>REST API consumption (fetch, error handling, reading API docs)</li><li>Basic knowledge of caching, HTTP headers, or CDN behaviour</li><li>Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, automated preview deploys, or similar)</li><li>Monorepo tooling (Turborepo, pnpm workspaces)</li><li>Comfort using AI coding tools &mdash; we use Claude Code as an integrated part of our engineering workflow; candidates who have used agentic tools to accelerate development are well-placed here</li></ul>WHAT WE OFFER<ul><li>Salary: &pound;28,000 &ndash; &pound;36,000 (junior) or &pound;40,000 &ndash; &pound;50,000 (mid-level)</li><li>Full-time in our London office, Monday to Friday</li><li>Small team: direct access to decision-makers, no bureaucracy</li><li>Real ownership &mdash; you'll see your work live on the same day in most cases</li><li>Exposure to a genuinely broad stack across eight live brands (vanilla JS, Next.js, Svelte, Laravel/PHP, WordPress, Node.js, Cloudflare, DigitalOcean, Stripe, Supabase) &mdash; your skills will broaden fast</li><li>Clear path to grow as the team expands</li></ul>HOW TO APPLY In your application, please include: 1.
