About this Role:

The Project Manager at Irby Construction Company is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating high-voltage transmission and distribution projects, overseeing multiple crews, and ensuring safe, high-quality, and cost-effective project delivery. This role requires a minimum of 3 years of powerline construction experience, in-depth knowledge of OSHA codes and standards, and the ability to manage all aspects of project execution from pre-construction through closeout. The Project Manager must possess strong leadership, technical, and organizational skills, and be able to direct multiple crews and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.</div><p><b>

What You'll Do:<div></div><div><b><br>
Pre-Construction Planning</b></div><ul><li>
Attend pre-construction meetings with estimators and stakeholders.</li><li>
Review bid packages for accuracy, completeness, and scope.</li><li>
Provide technical assistance, interpret drawings, and recommend construction methods and equipment.</li><li>
Assist in developing construction schedules, plans, and organizing crews.</li><li>
Work with Superintendent to assign foremen to job tasks and generate lists of required personnel, equipment, and tooling.</li><li>
Arrange for personnel and equipment transfers to projects.</li><li>
Support pre-construction activities including bid preparation, contract and exhibit review, and execution planning.</li></ul><p></p><div><b><br>
Project Planning &amp; Management</b></div><ul><li>
Oversee budget projections for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.</li><li>
Ensure project expenditure remains within established budgets, implementing cost-saving strategies.</li><li>
Develop, update, and manage project schedules</li><li>
Prepare billing packages and submit documentation to clients.</li><li>
Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly projections and track progress across all activities.</li><li>
Provide accurate project cost forecasts and develop monthly cost-to-complete reports.</li><li>
Prepare, submit, monitor, and maintain all project submittals and RFIs.</li><li>
Analyze cost reports and identify methods to optimize expenses.</li><li>
Manage the invoicing or payment application process for completed scopes of work.</li></ul><p></p><div><b><br>
Construction Execution</b></div><ul><li>
Review and become familiar with multiple contracts; ensure compliance with specifications.</li><li>
Accountable for quality of work and safety performance.</li><li>
Visit crews to monitor safety, quality, and production.</li><li>
Assist foremen in coordinating major project activities and critical tasks.</li><li>
Attend project meetings with owners and stakeholders.</li><li>
Update schedules and progress reports; verify as-builts and progress charts.</li><li>
Ensure all change orders are documented and billed.</li><li>
Maintain communication with inspectors and owners regarding quality, safety, schedule, and materials.</li><li>
Execute corrective actions for delays, adverse weather, or emergencies.</li><li>

Contract Administration</b></div><ul><li>
Prepare, review, and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.</li><li>
Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure contracts align with company policies.</li><li>
Maintain supplier relationships and ensure adherence to legal requirements.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
Documentation &amp; Reporting</b></p><ul><li>
Maintain comprehensive records of working documents per document control practices.</li><li>
Generate and review daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.</li><li>
Present project updates to executive leadership and stakeholders.</li><li>
Ensure all project documentation supports schedule and budget adherence.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
Stakeholder Communication &amp; Issue Resolution</b></p><ul><li>
Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.</li><li>
Lead meetings to resolve work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.</li><li>
Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to staff, workers, and clients.</li><li>
Follow up on complaints from owners, the public, or landowners.</li></ul><p></p><div><b><br>
Material &amp; Quality Management</b></div><ul><li>
Develop and oversee project material trackers based on BOM, drawings, and scope.</li><li>
Monitor inventories, production, shortages, and damages.</li><li>
Ensure productivity, efficient use of materials/equipment, and contractual performance.</li><li>
Monitor quality of labor, equipment hours, material, and subcontractor reporting.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
Team Leadership &amp; Development</b></p><ul><li>
Mentor and guide associate project managers and coordinators.</li><li>
Foster a collaborative and performance orientated team environment.</li><li>
Lead daily, weekly, and monthly meetings, including agenda and minutes.</li><li>
Arrange and participate in weekly foremen and monthly safety meetings.</li><li>
Participate in monthly job safety review meetings.</li><li>
Review personnel with Operations (evaluations, pay raises, CDL requirements, etc.).</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
General Duties</b></p><ul><li>
Accountable for cost, progress, and schedule for the duration of the project.</li><li>
Assist business unit with monthly forecasts.</li><li>

Attend training classes or seminars on new processes, safety regulations, and refresher training.</li><li>

What You'll Bring:
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in business, Construction Science/Management, Engineering, or equivalent field is preferred, but equivalent work experience will be considered</li><li>
PMP Certification is a plus.</li><li>
Skilled with project management software (Excel, P6, MS Project, EcoSys, etc.).</li><li>
Strong organizational, analytical, leadership, and communication skills.</li><li>
Ability to work in a team environment and prioritize assignments.</li><li>
Management and supervision skills.</li><li>

About this Role:
<p>
A QA/QC employee at Irby Construction Company oversee, monitors, tests, and reports on construction activities per the Civil design drawings and specifications as well as structural project-related activities and ensures construction is meeting all requirements. Will provide for effective measures to ensure construction work and materials are in strict compliance with utility standards, engineering specifications, and compliance requirements. Employees in this personnel classification shall possess a minimum of four to eight (4-8) years of substation construction experience. Such an employee shall also have in depth knowledge of all applicable OSHA codes and standards.
</p>What You'll Do:

Pre-Construction Duties</b></div><ul><li>
Layout of proposed structural elements</li><li>
Observation of concrete pours to ensure delivery/placement/finishing is satisfactory.</li><li>
Verify that Erosion Control elements are installed correctly and maintained, then communicating with supervision, as necessary.</li><li>
Documenting construction progress via reports/photos</li><li>
Coordinating necessary testing for subgrade, earth fill and/or structural elements</li><li>
Attend pre-construction meeting with PM/Estimator.</li><li>
Provide technical assistance, interpretation of drawings, recommend construction methods and equipment etc. as required.</li><li>
Review bid packages for accuracy, completeness, and overall electrical scope of work.</li><li>
Assist in instituting construction plans.
</li><li>Assist in lists of required tooling.</li></ul><div><b>
Construction Duties</b></div><ul><li>
To manage and control all quality control activities in accordance with identified Quality control standards, company procedures, client specifications and contract requirements.</li><li>
To continuously review quality control processes, procedures, and capabilities.</li><li>
To review client QC requirements and ensure that quality control documentation for the project meets contractual requirements.</li><li>
To submit inspection requests in coordination with concerned site/project supervision.</li><li>
To conduct three phase inspection of all ongoing activities for civil, electrical, mechanical, etc.</li><li>
To attend all inspections with client representatives.</li><li>
Prepare daily QA/QC reports, inspections, material, Non conformances etc.</li><li>
Prepare weekly reports, non-conformance reports and verification of corrective actions.</li><li>
Check the drawings and submittals used at site for compliance with project requirements.</li><li>
Ensure that all works are carried out as per the approved method statements and drawings.</li><li>
Attend all required project meetings with Owner as needed.</li><li>
Verify that as-builts &amp; progress charts are maintained.</li><li>
Have a good line of communication with inspector.</li></ul>
What You'll Bring:
<ul><li>Shall possess a minimum of four to eight (4-8) years of substatioin construction experience</li><li>
Adheres to all Company Safety and Health Policies</li><li>
Must be willing to stay out of town. Typical work weeks are 4-10 hour shifts or 5-10-hour shifts. Available to travel as the project requires.</li><li>
Willing to work over-time and be able to work extended periods of time.
</li><li>May work in storm restoration operations to rebuild and/or repair damaged power systems.</li><li>
May attend training classes or seminars to gather knowledge of new processes, safety regulations and/or refresher training.</li><li>
Walking and working across uneven terrain.</li><li>
Climbing on and off large trucks and equipment.</li><li>
Must be able to work outside 100% of the time. We work in inclement weather that includes heat, cold, rain and possible snow.</li><li>
Able to lift in excess 50 pounds daily.</li><li>
Willing to work off the ground in man baskets. Normal working heights are 20&rsquo;-60&rsquo; with the possibility of working at 120&rsquo; heights.</li><li>
Must be able to work around energized systems.</li></ul>
