Position Summary:

ISC2 is a global leader in advocating for a vibrant cybersecurity ecosystem. We shape meaningful and impactful policy, regulations, laws, guidance and frameworks across the globe that ensure the strongest cybersecurity postures possible and raise awareness of and advocate for a well-qualified and well-trained global cybersecurity workforce as a critical component of cybersecurity resilience and strength. While we aim to serve as a trusted resource for the global policymaking community, our members are at the heart of our work. To this end, we focus on current and futures issues critical to cybersecurity professionals and their critical role in keeping us all safe and secure and to ensure the profession has the support it needs to grow to advance cyber resilience globally.</div><div><br>
</div><div>ISC2&rsquo;s Advocacy function is expanding in both its scale and depth. The Global Advocacy Director is a key part of this expansion as it will lead the development of two key areas in the Advocacy function. You will lead ISC2&rsquo;s work to engage in the global advocacy cybersecurity ecosystem, and will also lead the development of an advocacy content curation function that will further establish ISC2 as a thought leader among key stakeholders.</div>
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Develop long and short-term strategies in advancing ISC2&rsquo;s position as a global cybersecurity leader among global and regional multi-lateral organizations, including the United Nations, World Economic Forum, Organization of American States, African Union and other global coalitions</li><li>
Lead ISC2&rsquo;s engagement with the bodies noted above, including serving on working groups, advocating for the adoption of policies aimed at advancing commitments to developing a well-qualified cybersecurity workforce and connecting ISC2 staff and members to opportunities resulting from the engagement</li><li>
Develop and manage a process for policy position development at ISC2</li><li>
Develop and manage a process for responses to public consultations and requests for inquiry / input</li><li>
In partnership with other Advocacy staff members, develop and manage a process for leveraging member&rsquo;s experience and expertise to inform our advocacy work and policy positions</li><li>
Serve as the lead internal partner to ISC2 Corporate Affairs and Advocacy leadership in raising awareness of ISC2&rsquo;s advocacy work, including providing content for outputs to our members (articles, blogs etc), providing content to support ISC2&rsquo;s social media strategy and serving as the lead on special research projects</li><li>
Survey, craft, pursue and propose opportunities for ISC2 to engage in policy discussions and thought leadership opportunities</li><li>
Educate, engage, leverage ISC2 members into advocacy activities and opportunities</li><li>
Serve as a leader and representative of ISC2 values internally and externally</li><li>
Lead, develop and coach staff</li><li>
Oversee and manage budgets</li><li>
Other duties as assigned</li></ul>

Qualifications:
<ul><li>Proven track record of leadership, influence and strong interpersonal skills
</li><li>Experience working with member associations or nonprofits a plus
</li><li>Keen Interest in cybersecurity policy and creating value for membership associations</li></ul>
Education and Work Experience:
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Public Affairs/Policy Administration, Political Science or related field</li><li>
10+ years of professional experience in public policy, government affairs and/or legislative and regulatory affairs</li></ul>
Physical and Mental Demands:
<ul><li>Work remotely from home full time
</li><li>Able to travel up to 25% domestically and globally
</li><li>Ability to manage and work across multiple time zones</li><li>
Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods
</li><li>Regular use of office equipment such as a computer/laptop and monitor computer screens
</li><li>Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components</li></ul>
