Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Access Control Specialist to join our security and systems integration team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting access control systems that safeguard facilities and assets. Your expertise will ensure seamless security operations through advanced system design, hardware installation, and ongoing support. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge security technology, including CCTV, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and low voltage systems, while providing vital protection for our clients&rsquo; properties.Duties<ul><li>Install, configure, and maintain access control systems, including electronic locks, card readers, biometric devices, and remote access software.</li><li>Conduct system design and schematics development for new security installations or upgrades.</li><li>Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting of security hardware such as CCTV cameras, sensors, fire alarms, and surveillance equipment.</li><li>Integrate security systems with telecommunication networks and low voltage electrical wiring to ensure reliable operation.</li><li>Utilize hand tools and power tools to perform cabling, conduit work, and hardware mounting in construction or retrofit projects.</li><li>Diagnose system issues using IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), schematics, and technical manuals; resolve problems efficiently to minimize downtime.</li><li>Collaborate with service technicians on field service tasks involving electrical experience, mechanical knowledge, and the use of various tools.</li><li>Conduct site surveys to assess existing infrastructure for security system upgrades or new installations.</li><li>Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, wiring diagrams, service logs, and incident reports.</li><li>Assist in sales activities related to alarm system sales by providing technical expertise during client consultations.</li><li>Ensure compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and local building codes during installation projects.</li><li>Support ongoing training for team members on new security technologies and best practices in low voltage cabling and surveillance.</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Strong understanding of computer networking principles relevant to security systems integration.</li><li>Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools for hardware installation.</li><li>Proven field service experience working on security systems such as CCTV, sensors, fire alarms, access control devices, and surveillance equipment.</li><li>Expertise in computer hardware setup and troubleshooting within complex security environments.</li><li>Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals accurately.</li><li>Familiarity with IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), remote access software, and telecommunication protocols used in security networks.</li><li>Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems including cabling techniques for alarm systems and surveillance infrastructure.</li><li>Experience in construction environments involving security system integration into new or existing structures.</li><li>Skilled in locksmithing principles related to electronic lock mechanisms and physical security hardware.</li><li>Strong electrical experience with a focus on power supplies, conduit wiring, grounding practices, and NEC compliance standards.</li><li>Excellent communication skills to coordinate with clients during installation or service visits effectively.
