<div><div><p>Purpose: The Claims Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the Risk &amp; Claims Manager by assisting with the intake, processing, and documentation of vehicle and workers&rsquo; compensation claims. This role helps ensure timely submission, recordkeeping, and coordination with internal teams, insurance partners, and legal counsel. The position plays a key role in maintaining organized records and supporting communication throughout the claims process.</p></div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Responsibilities</b></h2><ul><ul><li>Assist with the intake of incident reports and initial claim documentation.
</li><li>Enter and update claim details in the internal tracking system and ensure completeness.
</li><li>Coordinate follow-up documentation from internal departments, employees, and vendors.
</li><li>Schedule appointments, calls, or meetings with insurance adjusters, attorneys, and claimants as directed.
</li><li>Maintain organized digital and physical files for all open and closed claims.
</li><li>Generate basic claim status reports and summaries for review by the Risk &amp; Claims Manager.
</li><li>Prepare correspondence to employees, carriers, or legal representatives regarding claim updates.
</li><li>Ensure proper retention of claim records in compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
</li><li>Track deadlines and assist with filing compliance reports (e.g., OSHA logs, insurer notifications).
</li><li>Support other administrative needs as requested by the Risk &amp; Claims Manager.

Education:</p><p>
 High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in business administration, risk management, or HR preferred.</p><p>
Experience:</p><ul><li>1&ndash;2 years of administrative experience, preferably in insurance, legal, or HR support</li><li>Familiarity with document handling, case files, or compliance documentation</li></ul><p>
Exposure:</p><ul><li>Basic understanding of claim types (workers&rsquo; comp, auto, liability)</li><li>Experience handling confidential and sensitive information</li><li>Comfort working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment</li></ul><p>
