Overview We are seeking a passionate and creative Preschool Discovery Teacher specializing in Art and Music to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will foster a nurturing environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and developmental growth through engaging art and music activities. This role is perfect for individuals with a background in early childhood education, classroom management, and experience working with young children. A strong understanding of childhood development, behavior management, and curriculum development is essential to inspire and support our preschoolers&rsquo; learning journeys. This teacher will move from room to room to teach art and music! You will be expected to guide students in creating their artwork pieces to showcase at a spring Art Show. Strong time management and organization is a must!Responsibilities<ul><li>Design and implement age-appropriate art and music curricula that promote creativity, self-expression, and developmental skills.</li><li>Plan engaging lesson plans that incorporate various artistic mediums, musical activities, and cultural experiences.</li><li>Manage classroom environments to ensure safety, organization, and positive behavior among preschool students.</li><li>Foster a supportive atmosphere that encourages children&rsquo;s exploration of art, music, theater, dance (such as ballet), cooking activities, and other creative pursuits.</li><li>Incorporate photography, sewing, culinary experiences, and theatrical elements into lessons to enrich the learning experience.</li><li>Utilize classroom management techniques to promote respectful behavior and social-emotional development.</li><li>Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative educational strategies aligned with childhood development standards.</li><li>Document student progress through observations, assessments, and portfolio creation to inform instruction and communicate with parents.</li><li>Engage in ongoing professional development related to early childhood education, special education needs, and creative arts instruction.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Prior experience working with children in preschool or early childhood settings is required.</li><li>Strong background in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management strategies.</li><li>Knowledge of childhood development principles and experience integrating arts such as painting, drawing, sculpture, and music into educational activities.</li><li>Excellent communication skills for collaborating with parents and team members.</li><li>Passion for fostering a love of learning through arts-based activities that support social-emotional growth.</li><li>Relevant certifications or training in early childhood education or related fields are preferred but not mandatory.
