Description of the job:
The Field Engineer supports all aspects of the large infrastructure project(s) to which
they are assigned, including planning, scheduling, costs, and logistics. They work at the
direction of the Project Manager and perform both field and office tasks in support of the
project and project team. Their goal is to maximize project safety, efficiency and
profitability.
Job Duties:<ul><li>Safety &ndash; participate in daily safety tours and toolbox meetings</li><li>Personnel &ndash; work closely with field crews, field supervision, surveyors, QC staff,</li></ul>
safety staff, and other project engineers to support and execute the construction
work<ul><li>Estimating &ndash; assist in the development of cost estimates and pricing change order</li></ul>
work<ul><li>Contract administration &ndash; subcontract and material management</li><li>Document control &ndash; maintain control of all project documentation</li><li>Trend tracking &ndash; tracking of quantities, costs, and progress</li><li>Equipment and material management</li><li>Scheduling &ndash; scheduling and work plan development</li><li>Document review &ndash; review plans and other technical documents</li><li>Closeout &ndash; assist the project team with closeout of the project</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul>
Technical/Professional Knowledge (Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience)<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in construction management, civil engineering or related field</li><li>Strong communication skills</li><li>Professional and polished</li><li>Computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel,</li></ul>
Outlook, PowerPoint) and other construction-specific software programs<ul><li>Demonstrates flexibility and is adaptable to change</li><li>General knowledge of office protocol, routines and procedures.</li><li>Ability to read and comprehend plans and specifications</li><li>Strong attention to detail, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills</li><li>Ability to meet deadlines</li><li>Self-motivated and proactive. Can accomplish tasks without direct oversight</li></ul>
Physical Requirements<ul><li>Ability to navigate jobsite conditions safely &ndash; stand/walk on uneven terrain, obey</li></ul>
audible/visual safety cues, climb a ladder, and work at heights wearing personal fall
protection<ul><li>Willingness to work above or below ground</li><li>Available to work a variable schedule as required by project schedule and work</li></ul>
demands, including night shifts, occasional weekends and overtime<ul><li>Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer</li><li>Ability to work in a group office setting</li><li>Must be able to lift to 25 pounds</li><li>Longer commute or relocation may be required due to change in assigned jobsite</li></ul>
Shea will pay for your relocation costs; this will include lodging for up to 3 weeks after
