 Summary
 
 
 We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team in Perth, Scotland. The successful candidate will carry out high-quality welding, fabrication, and repair work on heavy civil engineering plant, machinery, and HGVs. This role supports the safe and reliable operation of equipment both in the depot and on operational sites.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Key Responsibilities
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Undertake welding and fabrication repairs on heavy plant, attachments, and HGV components
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Carry out structural repairs to buckets, blades, chassis, bodywork, and ancillary equipment
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform MIG, MMA (stick), and/or TIG welding as required
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and repair instructions
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Work closely with fitters and management to plan and prioritise repairs
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Carry out on-site welding and repair works when required
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure all work meets required quality and safety standards
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Conduct pre- and post-repair inspections to confirm integrity and fitness for use
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain welding equipment, tools, and consumables in a safe and serviceable condition
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Complete job sheets, defect reports, and maintenance records accurately
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Comply with all health &amp; safety legislation, risk assessments, and method statements
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop and work area
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Carry out any other duties reasonably required for the role
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Essential Skills, Knowledge &amp; Experience
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator in a heavy engineering, plant, or HGV environment
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Competence in MIG and MMA welding (TIG desirable)
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience working with structural steel and heavy-gauge materials
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to work from drawings or carry out repairs based on inspection and experience
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong awareness of health &amp; safety requirements
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Full UK driving licence
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Desirable
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Recognised welding qualifications or coded welder certification
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience working on construction or civil engineering plant and attachments
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Mobile/on-site welding experience
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience in cutting, grinding, gouging, and fabrication work
 
 </li>
 </ul>
