JOB DESCRIPTION

Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment&mdash;including plows/trenchers, backhoes, excavators, skid steers, bulldozers, and front-end loaders&mdash;to support construction and project-related activities.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
<ul>
<li>Operate heavy equipment&mdash;including plows/trenchers, backhoes, excavators, skid steers, bulldozers, and front-end loaders&mdash;safely and efficiently to support construction activities.
</li>
<li>Perform daily equipment inspections to ensure safe operation and report any issues or required repairs.
</li>
<li>Conduct basic maintenance on equipment such as greasing, lubrication, and fluid checks.
</li>
<li>Follow site-specific safety protocols and company procedures at all times.
</li>
<li>Collaborate with site supervisors and crew members to meet project goals and schedules.
</li>
<li>Read and interpret grade stakes and project specifications as needed for accurate operation.
</li>
<li>Adapt to various weather conditions and physically demanding work environments.
</li>
<li>Work independently while maintaining a team-oriented, safety-focused mindset.
</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned, including labor tasks when equipment is not in use.
</li>
</ul>PHYSICAL AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
<ul>
<li>Must comply with company drug and alcohol policy and pass any required physical exams.</li>
<li>Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (assistance recommended for heavier loads).</li>
<li>Work extended hours on foot, including on uneven or rough surfaces.</li>
<li>Climb ladders, kneel, crawl, or work at heights and in confined spaces.</li>
<li>Must be able to hear and distinguish emergency signals and instructions while on duty</li>
</ul>
