The Role
We are seeking our first Tax Bookkeeper to be based in our growing, dynamic Bangalore office. As our first local specialist Tax hire in India you will work closely with our local Operations and Finance teams as well as the London based head office to maintain accurate financial records, preparing and reconciling accounts, and supporting the preparation of tax returns and compliance filings. This role ensures that all bookkeeping and tax-related data are recorded in accordance with accounting standards and statutory requirements, enabling timely and accurate tax reporting.<ul>

Review of specified accounts, (e.g. expenses, legal fees, etc) to:</li>
<li><ul><li>Maximising VAT recovery</li>
<li>Identify taxable benefits</li>
<li>Properly classify expenditure for corporate income tax</li>
<li>Identification of items to be recharged within the group</li>
</ul></li></ul><ul><li>Review of all purchase and sale data coming from internal systems for
</li><li><ul><li>validity of invoices for VAT recovery</li>
<li>correct classification regarding VAT</li>
<li>correct recipient entity</li>
</ul></li><li>Identification of purchases to be recharged within the group and liaise with operations teams to repost and resolve any errors.
</li></ul>Requirements<ul>
<li>
Competence in bookkeeping</li>
<li>Awareness of how data flows through financial systems</li>
<li>Competence with Workday and Business Central ERP systems</li>
<li>Knowledge of income tax adjustments to accounting profit</li>
<li>Knowledge of how a VAT system works and the main issues around recovery of VAT</li>
<li>Knowledge of taxable employee benefits and identification thereof.</li>
