Job Title: Production Specialist

Reports to: Group Manager

Under direct supervision, the Production Specialist performs repetitive production support operations using hand tools and associated machinery and equipment to assist in the manufacturing of JELD-WEN products including Door Skins, and all other JELD-WEN-related building products. 


Responsibilities and Duties:
<ul>
<li>Read and understand customer&rsquo;s requirements from the job ticket.</li>
<li>Gather all the materials needed to complete the job.</li>
<li>Ensure that all material is labeled properly before it is sent to the warehouse.</li>
<li>Ensure all door accessories are in place before packaging.</li>
<li>Understand each material for the different orders.</li>
<li>Visually inspect, select, and package products according to requested specifications.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Communicate with management on material or maintenance on equipment not performing up to standards and those in need of reorder / repair.</li>
<li>Responsible for maintaining clean and functional equipment.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Responsible for the troubleshooting of the machine.</li>
<li>Review documents such as production schedules, and work orders, to determine the set-up of the machine including door type, and size and validate each order.</li>
<li>Responsible to operate the machine accurately according to each order characteristic to exceed customer expectations in a safe and efficient manner that improves the current level of production.</li>
<li>Responsible for assembling the door accessories of the product.</li></ul> 


Responsibilities and Duties: 


Builder
<div>
<ul><li>Use your hands to straighten stacks on the builder lift.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Clean the grating and headboard of excess glue every two lifts.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Inspect glue coverage of the beginning of each lift to ensure the appropriate amount of glue.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Build doors according to work instructions and complete pace of 16 minutes, build door every 26 seconds.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Responsible for all doors produced on the line during your shift hours.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must know and understand the production schedule and specific information contained on individual batch cards to ensure doors are or lay-up/Built according to specifications.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Proficiency in the internal components of the doors and the capacity to construct doors in accordance with (DEO) must be shown.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must know skin types and size doors to the customer's specifications according to the production schedule.</li></ul></div> 


Jump Saw
<div>
<ul><li>Clean or make minor repairs to machines or equipment.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ability to perform basic functions of arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide units of measure.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Load and operate machinery to maximize product quality and operational efficiency.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Shut down, disassemble, and clean equipment and work areas. Routinely inspect and maintain equipment.</li></ul></div> 


Assembler
<div>
<ul><li>Assemble products using tools and automated equipment, this could include drilling holes, measuring parts, cutting parts, or using a saw.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Communicate clearly in English both orally and in writing to carry out job functions and work with your team.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Read visual and written instructions on a computer screen to retrieve parts and deliver to production lines.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Work closely with your supervisor to troubleshoot any mechanical or material issues.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Crosstrain in multiple departments, adding variety to your workday.</li></ul></div> 


Finisher
<div>
<ul><li>Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to appropriate plant personnel including, but not limited to, Group Leaders, or Group Managers or quality control personnel</li></ul>
<ul><li>Clean or make minor repairs to machines or equipment.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ability to perform basic functions of arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide units of measure.</li></ul>

Quick/Extensive Repair
<div>
<ul><li>Accurate identification and diagnosis of product failure, damage, or errors in workmanship.
</li></ul><ul><li>Conduct basic repairs and assessments to line products</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ability to use a table saw</li></ul>
<ul><li>Be able to accurately inspect JELD-WEN door products to find root causes of damage.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ensure proper repairs are completed based on company policy</li></ul>

<ul>
<li>Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to appropriate plant personnel including, the direct supervisor, or inspection or quality control personnel.</li>
<li>Safety Compliance &ndash; Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while performing job tasks. Report any safety hazards or concerns to the supervisor immediately.
<ul><li>Conforms with safety regulations per plant policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines. This includes but is not limited to, the use of safety glasses, ear plugs, masks, steel-toed boots/shoes, and associated safety equipment on the plant floor.</li>
</ul></li><li>Cleanliness and organization &ndash; Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including storage spaces. Ensure tools and equipment are safely stored after each use.</li>
<li>Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.</li>
<li>Other general duties as required by the management staff.</li></ul>

<li>Must have the ability to read and comprehend basic verbal and written instructions, and read and interpret drawings, blueprints, sketches, instructions, and specifications.</li>
<li>Willingness to learn and be cross trained throughout the plant.</li>
<li>Must be willing to accept and receive frequent training, supervision, and assistance from positions and supervisory personnel.</li>
<li>Must have effective communication skills and be able to communicate with many levels of personnel effectively and tactfully in various situations and environments.</li>

<li>The ability to work in a manufacturing and fast-paced environment.</li>
<li>Have reliable transportation and be punctual and dependable for each assigned shift.</li>

<li>Must be able to work overtime as needed.</li>
<li>Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical examination and drug screen.</li>

Education and Experience
<ul>
<li>High School Diploma or GED</li>
<li>Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools.</li>
<li>Previous experience working in various pieces of janitorial equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor strippers, buffer machines, and carpet/fabric shampooers.</li>
<li>Basic understanding of the usage of tools.</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.</li>
<li>Willingness to learn and follow instructions.</li>
<li>Clear and precise communication skills and the ability to work within a team.</li>
<li>Previous experience in manufacturing or warehouse environment</li>
<li>Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills</li>
<li>Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.</li>
<li>Must be able to be trained in basic processes and equipment and serve as a hands-on resource in Production Support.</li></ul>

Work Environment

<li>Distribute and slot tickets as required</li>
<li>Provide customer service and support to customers via the phone and email, as well as will-call</li>
<li>Communicate customer service needs with drivers, sales, and operations</li>
<li>Update scheduling database with ticket details</li></ul> 


Preferred Experience:
<ul>
<li>Solid customer service background</li>
<li>Answering a high volume of calls from Drivers, Customers, and Sales Team</li>
<li>Logistics or transportation experience</li>
<li>2+ years of basic computer skills, with ability to be trained on company software</li></ul>
